Motherhood Monday: Drugstore Beauty Products for Busy Mom on a Budget

I had this post scheduled for yesterday, and never got around to posting it. We were outside literally all weekend enjoying some beautiful weather and I put this post on the back burner. Normally I do my Amazon post today, but there are literally two things I would share (we’ve been doing a great job trying to eliminate useless spending).

Today I’m sharing a handful of my favorite beauty drugstore products that I feel are worth WAYYY more than what they cost! These products are something I use almost everyday and help keep a busy Mom looking somewhat sane!

Tip Jar: Home Cleaning Checklist

Happy Tuesday! Today I am re-sharing my cleaning checklist because I’ve been using it a lot recently and felt it would be helpful to share again! I do not have a cleaning lady – though at times I wish I could! I personally refuse to pay for that service right now as I know it is one of my jobs as a stay at home Mom. In an effort to keep up with things around the house and not get TOO overwhelmed, I put together a thorough home maintenance schedule based on combining multiple cleaning checklists.

One of the main goals my husband and I have been trying to accomplish (and we’ve been doing a great job keeping up with it) is making sure the kitchen is clean EVERY NIGHT. Another area we’ve tried to improve on – making an effort to not get too agitated if the kids play room, aka our living room, is an absolute disaster during the day. It will always look chaotic as long as the kiddos are little and playing so learning to accept that fact is something we’ve made an effort to ignore. As long as the play room/living room is picked up at the end of the day and the kitchen is cleaned, we’ve found the following day to start off better – it just sets the day off on the right foot!

I will share more on this topic later because I have a WHOLE blog post dedicated to some things I’ve been facing as a Mom and a woman (hello Aunt Flo) that have truly come to light over the past year.

Motherhood Monday: 3 Tips for a smoother winter wake up routine

We’ve all experienced it – the coziness, the warmth, the darkness – the perfect sleeping conditions that can make it hard to wake up and leave our bed during the winter months!

If you have a child who is a freeze baby (*raises hand*) and not a morning person (*raises hand again*), you know what a challenge waking up for school can be. Today I’m sharing some of my tips and tricks on how I help wake the kiddos up for school during the winter months – which can be the toughest months of all!

You can get the detailed post by searching “what to do with kids” then clicking on the appropriate week.

What I’m Wearing Wednesday – Fall Finds

Happy Wednesday – I meant to post this yesterday, but the sun was shining and temps were perfection, so off to the fall fest farm it was! Today I’m sharing some recent fall clothing finds. I just went through a purge of my closet and looking to do round two again soon! One obsession I have is new clothes and trying different trends – I generally try to find these things at a discounted price point so sharing some “designer-like” looks at a bargain today!

Toddler Girl Fall Capsule

It’s Tip Jar Tuesday and today I am sharing a cute and inexpensive fall clothing capsule for toddler girls. Fall is the perfect time for layering – therefore the mixing and matching of outfits is a lot easier when different elements such as a cardigan or jean jacket are added! These clothing options can go from church, to play, to party and everywhere in between!

Back to School: How We’re Preparing

SCHOOL. STARTS. TOMORROW. OH MY GOSH – where did this summer go?! Honestly, it flew by. Yesterday I was crying for a good portion of that day – Kindergarten is a big deal in my eyes. It’s the beginning of a new era. The next 16 years of life will involve school and the freedoms I used to have with all three kiddos in tow on a weekday are gone – well until next summer – but you get the point. I am trying to make today a great day for Audrey and also get her prepared for her first day of Kinder, but before I head out to do that, I’m sharing some things we have done already to prepare for day one.

Star Spangled Sweets Board

I cannot believe July 4th is this weekend! If summer can just pump the breaks a bit here, that would be amazing! Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays and I love the traditions we do! Since my brother and sister-in-law always host, I offered to make a patriotic sweet and savory “snackuterie” boards for their party and I’m definitely looking forward to diving into this one on the 4th!

It’s Tuesday Talk and today I’m sharing some athleisure must-haves! These pieces have great reviews and won’t break the bank! My husband and I are trying to get out and play golf twice a month for a little date night and I really needed to update my golf wardrobe (for those of you new here, I played golf in college). Sharing some cute athleisure-wear, some of which are on sale!

Motherhood Monday: Momma Guilt

Back dating this post because hey, I didn’t get this done when I wanted, but who said I can’t post it now! No sense in sweating the small stuff. And this feeling is so fitting for this Motherhood Monday post. It is no coincidence that Mother’s Day is this weekend and it’s also Maternal Mental Health Awareness week, so what a perfect time to share some thoughts that have been on my mind that I’m sure we all suffer from!

We are busy, we want to do it all, we want a clean/perfect house, we want our kids to be learning at home. Let me preface by saying, I do suffer from OCD tendencies (my house is far from what you would expect a person with OCD house would look like). My OCD is one that builds up and erupts when things around me appear to look or feel like rock bottom in my own head – can anyone else relate?!

After chatting with my Mom and Mother in Law it occurred to me. Why do we (particularly myself) put so much unnecessary stress in our life?! Accepting the fact that you will fall short in some areas so many times in our lives (particularly during these toddler years) is something I need to understand as completely NORMAL.

2021 Toddler Easter Basket Ideas

My goodness, what a week it has already been! We returned home from vacation this past weekend and I had every intention of getting my blog posts together for the week, but the tummy bug has been making its’ way through our house! Finally able to sit down this afternoon as Audrey was the final kiddo to be hit with the bug. The great thing is, it is very quick and both the boys were back on their feet within 12 hours. Praying it will skip over Andrew and I, but not sure that will happen – this bug is wicked contagious!

We’ve been hearing of family members, friends and coworkers who’ve been dealing with it so we know it’s making its round. The first thing we did before getting home Saturday was stock up our sick essentials – reposting that here because I think a lot of us will be needing it.

Anyway, happy to pop on here today and share some toddler basket ideas with you! Vacation last week has thrown me off, so I’m playing catch up and getting our lives back in order around here!
