Motherhood Monday: Drugstore Beauty Products for Busy Mom on a Budget

I had this post scheduled for yesterday, and never got around to posting it. We were outside literally all weekend enjoying some beautiful weather and I put this post on the back burner. Normally I do my Amazon post today, but there are literally two things I would share (we’ve been doing a great job trying to eliminate useless spending).

Today I’m sharing a handful of my favorite beauty drugstore products that I feel are worth WAYYY more than what they cost! These products are something I use almost everyday and help keep a busy Mom looking somewhat sane!

I’m not an expert when it comes to anything beauty related. I have my go-to makeup and skincare routine, which really isn’t something to write home about! There are though a handful of beauty favorites that I truly love and I wanted to share those with you today!

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Tropical

The scent, OMG! An absolute favorite of mine and super affordable compared to other dry shampoos. I have tried the living proof dry shampoo and honestly wasn’t super impressed. I actually feel like I have way better results with this dry shampoo at the fraction of the price!

Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil

I use this stuff a lot in the winter. After washing my face or showering, I lather it on and then head to bed – smells so great and love how smooth my skin feels the following morning.

Sally Hansen Nail Polish

Leaf me Be – Sally Hansen

If you’ve been reading a while, you know I love the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes. They are super affordable and the gel top coat makes it look like I just returned from the nail salon! Perfect for busy moms who have ZERO time to get to the nail salon!

Mascara gives life

I don’t know about you, but if I’m running behind for school drop off, the only thing my face will get in a hurry is a little mascara. This combo of mascara has been one of the best I’ve ever used! I love it!

I first start with the Sky High on my lashes – I feel this really separates them nicely.

Next I use the Lash Paradise to give volume and I really like how natural it makes my lashes look! You’ll have to give this combo a try!

Wet hair, don’t care

I’ve been using this sea salt spray for a really long time! Not only does it smell amazing, it also adds some nice texture to my hair and makes my curls look a little more natural wave.

How I use this product: I have naturally curly hair and will generally apply the products after showering. I like to apply the texturizing hair cream (not sure they even sell the texturing cream anymore so I need to find a replacement!) to damp not soaking hair and brush it through making sure it is evenly distributed. You only need to use a pea size amount. I normally walk around and get lunches packed or whatever needs to get done in the meantime allowing my hair to air dry but brushing every 10 min or so.

After I’ve “pulled my curls” I then spray the sea salt all over my hair – shake my hair to give some volume!

There you have it! Some tried and true drugstore favorites at affordable prices!
