What’s Up Wednesday [03.27.24]

It’s the last Wednesday of the month, and that means I’m linking up with some of my favorite bloggers Mix & Match Mama and Sheaffer Told Me To to share what has been happening around here! These are my favorite posts – I LOVE seeing what others have going on and love that I can look back at these someday!

March, where’d you go?! Oh my gosh, we are alive and well and thoroughly enjoying our days! March flew in and BLEW out! I miss blogging, but just don’t get to it like I used to. My busiest times are March, April & May. It’s planting season, seed starting, tulips, Girl Scout Cookie Manager, plant sale publicity for my local garden club, ad posting for said sale and subscriptions, Mother’s Day, end or school, etc….all the things start happening soon. I wish I could be better at blogging (one of my goals), but I just keep swinging and missing. In the past couple months, I’ve shifted my mindset on being present for family, the household and my “jobs”. Those things take precedent!

While I miss blogging and hope to do better down the line and put less stress on perfectionism, let’s jump back in by sharing my most favorite updates of the month!

What We’re Eating This Week…

My Mother-in-law helped us with taxes yesterday (thank goodness for her!) so every year we order some sort of take out – we ordered from our favorite Lebanese restaurant (it was delish!)

We had meatloaf, mashed potatoes and broccoli on Monday and the rest of the week looks like this!
Wed: Chicken tacos, cilantro rice and all the fixins…
Thursday: Casserole with salad
Friday: Salmon or butterfly shrimp for our last Friday of Lent…mac n cheese and salad

What I’m Reminiscing About

Spring Break with the kiddos…we are staying home for Spring break (I can’t wait!), but this time of year always makes me think of our Florida trips with the kiddos and just how little they were!

What I’m Loving…

Okay first off, we are LOVING our sweet little niece! She’s a week old and beyond precious!

We were chatting our niece and nephew count is 11! What a blessing!

These worksheets along with the Cozi app have been a game changer for me!

If you’re the type of person who needs to just get things down on paper, these are for you! I use them EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK and I find I’m dropping the ball WAYYY LESS on things than I used to before!

We’ve been loving the fact that we can get back outside!

Hikes and walks!

We’ve also been truly embracing our home. More than ever, I feel truly blessed to live where we do. The character of our home makes me happy and the space we live in is perfect. I’ve been really into cottages and cottage gardens in particular and keep wondering how I can implement those cozy elements into our home!

Here’s our new couch to make our family room a little more functional! I plan to share our “family room redesign” soon!

What We’ve Been Up To…

We wrapped up basketball and cheer season, and we are now onto TRACK! The kids have been enjoying it so much!

We’ve been making smores and went to the movies! We saw Kung Fu Panda 4, which was very good!

We also met another new family member! My brother and sister-in-law got a puppy!

We’ve been busy trying to catch leprechauns!

And making Monster truck arenas and tracks nonstop!

What I’m Dreading…

Not much besides in consistent weather for my tulips! Hoping things level out! ALSO, trying to regain access to an old Instagram account that was hacked – any advice in the comments section would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

What I’m Working On…

It’s heavy seed sowing season and ALMOST TULIP TIME!

I finally wrapped up Girl Scout cookie season! That was wild, but also pretty fun!

What I’m Excited About…

Spring break!! I can’t wait to have no where to be! We are just going to relax together – a little taste of summer!

I’ve already told the kids I would love to go through closets and purge/donate clothes – tis the season!

I’m also SO excited to check out a local bakery this weekend! This bakery is INCREDIBLY gorgeous and the pastries, breads, etc. look fabulous!

What I’m Watching/Reading…

NOTHING! I just don’t have the time!

What I’m Listening To

The lovely birds chirping right now and my Hallow app daily reflection. I’m writing this at 6:30am!

What I’m Wearing…

NOTHING NEW AT ALL! Which is a good thing. As mentioned, I need to purge – there are clothes that I am just so uninterested in and need to make space for functional items!

What I’m Doing This Weekend…

It’s Easter weekend so we are going to be coloring and decorating some eggs, hitting up church services and hosting our annual Easter egg hunt and Easter dinner this year!

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…

The SOLAR ECLIPSE! We are praying for good weather!

What Else is New??

Some exciting things on the horizon, but for now, that’s it!

Favorite Amazon Purchase this Month….

These are the cutest little straw toppers! I bought some for the kids Easter baskets!

I’m beyond excited about these! I will keep a couple in our kitchen, one upstairs, and one in the basement! I never realized fire extinguishers expire!

I’ve been wanting to buy these for a while and finally caved! If we end up never using it in 25 years then I’ll have a party, but I would rather be prepared then not!
