What to Do with Kids – Week Nine Winter Activity Ideas

Reporting to you late this Tuesday evening! My gosh, what a weekend of getting things together before our trip and daylight savings time throwing off my internal clock, -but I told myself I was going to post so here I am! Today, I’m sharing week nine of our “What to Do: Winter Activity Ideas”. Only one more week left and I feel like it is on to brighter and warmer days ahead! We were outside yesterday from 3:00pm – 7:30pm and the kiddos were tuckered out! In the event you’re stuck with nothing to do, check out this week’s ideas!

Sharing this week’s ideas and a description of each! Hope you have some fun with these boredom busters!

Camp Out in the Living Room

Okay, we technically did this a month ago when our heater decided to breakdown! Audrey has been talking about having a camp out this summer in our gazebo, but why not bring up their kiddie tent and let them crash downstairs in the living room for a night?!

Make Monster Shakes

This shake was from Our Fab Fash Life and I see our kids being obsessed with all the flavors here!

I’m not sure who would be more excited for this one, myself or the kiddos! These were all the rage last year (probably still are, just haven’t seen it that much!) and I’ve been dying to try one ourselves. I’ve seen the Pioneer Woman do one on her show and I can’t see how you and your kids would not have an amazing time building a milkshake like this!

Put on a Play/Puppet Show

Last year we made a movie based on the Spiderman into the Spiderverse movie – it was really fun but took a long time, haha (we were bored!) I feel like creating a stage for the kiddos out of a cardboard box (we always have big boxes hanging around over here!) and having them put on a play/puppet show for us would be an awesome way for them to use their imagination and do something a little different for a change!

Giant Nail Salon

Again, we always have some cardboard boxes hanging around the house and one thing the kids love to do is paint. I;m not a huge fan, but I saw this adorable idea from Happy Toddler Play Time where the kids trace their hands many times on a strip of cardboard and mark off the spot on each finger for the nail. After your template is made – give them some paint and have them go to town at their salon!

Mystery Game

Have your kids spy or act like a super sleuth to solve a “who dunnit” type game/case. Create the case and lay out some easy clues around the house to help them find out who was the culprit! You can make it really simple or try to trick your kids to use their critical thinking skills!
