What to Do with Kids – Week Eight Winter Activity Ideas

Good morning and happy Monday! Today, I’m sharing week eight of our “What to Do: Winter Activity Ideas”. It has been a lot of fun to try new things especially when you constantly hear the question – Mom, what are we doing today? Hope these give you some ideas and would love to hear any boredom busters you use at your house!

Sharing this week’s ideas and a description of each! Hope you have some fun with these boredom busters!

“Sock Wars” (Indoor Dodgeball)

Clear out some furniture and make some space for some indoor dodgeball using socks! Split up into teams or watch your kids duke it out. Prepare yourself for a ton of laughs!

Dinner and a Play Date

Have a friend or cousin over to play and join your family for dinner! Definitely a great way to switch up your ordinary, everyday dinner for the better!

Techno Night

The kids had a blast with this! Right around Halloween, we lit up some glow-sticks, shut off the lights and had Alexa play some of our favorite techno jams in our kitchen. The kids were jumping around and dancing like crazy – it was so much fun! I had purchased a big pack of glow-sticks from Walmart and they are actually awesome to have available in the house for use whenever!

Pretend Store Play

My kiddos love to pretend play grocery store, diner and ice cream cart. I bought this diner kit for the kids at Christmas and they LOVE it!

Spread Kindness

I love how the kids are so into do things for others at such a young age. Whether it is wanting to go through their closet or old toys to give away, or making a picture for a family member to send in the mail – they are always loving to GIVE!

Whatever you want to do with your kids whether it be something charitable or something as simple as a picture/letter – these tiny acts can brighten someone’s day!

I saw this adorable activity from The Lean Green Bean ( the graphic is from her site so you could see how cute this idea is!) where you Mail a Hug!

Trace your child on a large sheet of paper (or use a kraft paper roll) and have them draw/color their face, etc. Fold it up and send with a message in the mail. She shares a cute little message you could include in your envelope!
