Motherhood Monday: 3 Tips for a smoother winter wake up routine

We’ve all experienced it – the coziness, the warmth, the darkness – the perfect sleeping conditions that can make it hard to wake up and leave our bed during the winter months!

If you have a child who is a freeze baby (*raises hand*) and not a morning person (*raises hand again*), you know what a challenge waking up for school can be. Today I’m sharing some of my tips and tricks on how I help wake the kiddos up for school during the winter months – which can be the toughest months of all!

Friday Favorites – 02.04.22

Another snow day for us here! Hope everyone is staying safe and soon able to enjoy all that snow as the storm passes! Andrew and I were supposed to head out this afternoon to a concert, but they made an announcement that they were rescheduling the concert, which we appreciate. So now, our day looks a little different, but excited to stay cozy with the kiddos and possibly go sled riding!

Of course, I’m linking up with some of my favorite bloggers to share some Friday Favorites with you all!

Hello Thursday!! As with the rest of the US, we are gearing up for some heavy snowfall today. We got a wintery mix of rain/sleet and ice last night and they’ve been telling us to gear up for the snow! Trying to stay cozy and safe during the storm and also will enjoy spending the day with my crew celebrating my birthday! They are home today with a snow day!

How did another year just come and go?! It does feel like forever ago though celebrating my 30th last year! Anyway, in honor of the bday, I felt like sharing 31 things about me! I’ve been wanting to do one of these posts for a while as a little intro for any new (or existing) readers here!

Tip Jar: RECAP No Spend January Challenge

It’s February 1st, which means the NO SPEND JANUARY challenge is officially complete. Today I’m sharing a recap of the challenge – some of the successes and some of the failures/updates that need to be addressed. I might even extend this into February and March, which are two more months where there isn’t much going on and we should utilize this in order to save BIG TIME

I know I mentioned this before, but summer can get crazy and the budget is even more difficult to figure out. The kids are home, spending ticks up a little bit – i.e. grocery budget increase, pool maintenance, having family and friends over, cookouts, parties and going to parks, on little trips, etc! These winter months are the perfect time to try to save as much as we can to make up for a variable summer.

Winter Activity Ideas for kids – Part 1

Last year I shared a weekly post with winter activity ideas (I shared a lot of our personal favorites) and descriptions of each activity. This year I’m sharing those weekly graphics under one post. Winter can get boring around here especially if you’ve been trapped in the house due to snow storms and super cold weather! Sharing part one today. You can get the detailed post by searching “what to do with kids” then clicking on the appropriate week.

Good morning and happy Wednesday! Today, I’m linking up with my some of my favorite bloggers, Mix and Match Mama and A Little Bit of Everything, to talk about how we organize for the new year!

Tip Jar: No Spend January Challenge

It’s that time of year again! A time when we sit down and thoroughly review our budget and set financial goals for the year. I will share more on goals and something new I just started for budget tracking, possibly later this week or next (because it requires it’s own post). In the meantime, I wanted to share a challenge with you, one you can join too – NO SPEND JANUARY!

You heard that right – N O S P E N D J A N U A R Y. This will be hard, it will be so annoying, but honestly it’s the reset we need. We didn’t entirely accomplish our goals from last year. Some modifications were made, unexpected items popped up (as they always do) and we focused hard on investing – which has been amazing and sometimes I forget that’s where our savings is!

22 for ’22

Happy New Year’s Eve or New Year’s depending on when you read this! WOW, did 2021 not fly by or what?! Looking back on this year, there were so many things that truly came to light bettering our family. As this year comes to a close, I look forward to the excitement of a “FRESH” start in the new year. I’ve seen this trend “22 for ’22” and thought I would jump on board. What are 22 goals, intentions, plans and/or “to-do’s” you have for the upcoming new year?!

Today I’m sharing my 22 in ’22 list. I had a great time doodling over the past week while the kiddos were using their new art supplies from Christmas and I thought – what the heck, let’s have fun and make this list come to life!
