Day in the Life – February ’22

Happy Wednesday! Hope your week has been off to a great start! We are hanging in there over here! So happy that I had set yesterday to be a day in the life post months ago because it turned out to be a memorable day! This definitely was a way different type of day compared to what we’ve been used to in the past. Andrew would normally be home, but due to a new position at work – he was back in the office and things were definitely a lot different!

So, let’s jump into our Tuesday!

I normally wake around 5:45 am, but this particular morning Andrew was up, so I decided to get some things done early too!

Andrew was already awake and in the shower. He was preparing for a very important breakfast meeting with his boss.

I tackled the important stuff…

Took me a while to get it, but I had the other word not many people had! You can read about that drama here!

Next, I got some invite work done…

Around 6:45, it was time to start the wake up process for the kiddos. I went in and turned Audrey’s lights on (and same with JP)

Then I went downstairs to make some breakfast and chat with Andrew before he was going to leave

We chatted for a bit, then I made us both a coffee

Down came JP

Couldn’t believe the temp outside…

Then I cleaned out water bottles (forgot to do it the night before) and started packing lunch and snack for Audrey and got breakfast made!

Forgot to snap pictures, but they ate their breakfast, got changed, brushed their teeth and we were out the door by 7:50! The sun was up and shining, but wow was it cold

The temp went from 22 degrees from leaving our garage to…

6 degrees! I kept watching the temp drop!

Of course we turned on our favorite jams for the commute in!

Arrived and waited in the car pool line. I let the kids get out of their buckles and hang around.

Normally it is just Audrey, JP and I, but with Andrew going into work early and not working from home, I had to bring him along. It is so crazy to see how our routine will change!

Drop off complete, now to start my rosary. Again, normally I am by myself doing this quietly in the car, but again Tommy was with me.

During this commute, I normally get two decades done and will finish it at other points throughout the day. I like to use habit stacking to get my rosaries done – I really try to utilize any quiet time I have and say my prayers when doing something mindless such as driving or folding laundry.

The view from the top of our street always is so pretty to me, especially on the clear morning! You can see the buildings in downtown Cleveland when it is clear and sunny!

Back home and ready to tackle LOTS of laundry as Andrew is heading out of town tomorrow (well technically today!)

I used to put almost everything in the dryer, but after doing a recent poll on my Instagram, I realized I have been doing laundry wrong!

Went around and opened up the shades to let the sunlight in!

This little guy loves playing trucks!

Folded a ton of clothes near him!

Then put things away. After that, I was in desperate need of a shower…

Sharing some makeup favorites tomorrow on my blog!

Showered and ready for the day, then I joined Tommy with his trucks, tidied up a little and chatted on the phone about his exciting news!

Just like that, it was time to grab JP from school!

Winter fashionnnnnnnnnn – ha, give me a hat and this coat all winter long! It will dress up any outfit imo…

Called my Mom on the way

Grabbed JP from school – didn’t get a picture and then it was back home! I talked to my Mom for a while about some parenting things that have been on my mind. We had a great convo and she shared some things that were super helpful!

Made a highly nutritious lunch…

I had the same thing, didn’t feel like having spaghetti leftovers.

My lunch buddies! Tommy with his shirt off 10000% of the time at home…

The boys played for a bit, while I continued the laundry…

Then we went up to JP’s room to tackle that mess it was on my list of things to do this weekend and never got to it

He did a great job helping – wish it wouldn’t get this bad to begin with but he’s four I suppose!

Ahhhhhh, much better!

The boys played a little and then I decided it would be fun to get Dad some balloons to celebrate his work news!

To the Dollar Tree we went. I crammed it in just before Tommy’s nap time and let’s just say it wasn’t the best trip…

But we got what we needed! Some office supplies and balloons – simple and fun!

Got this crabby fella down for his nap around 1:50

Back downstairs for dishwasher and you guessed it, more laundry!

Then I worked on an invite order while JP watched his favorite show. The bus normally arrives around 3:45, but it has come around 3:20 before so I always have to be on bus lookout duty!

Back at the rosary during this time…

Around 3:40ish, JP and I went outside to wait for Audrey and take care of a couple things.

My tulip pots are in the second garage and it was SO cold the pots were frozen, not ideal so I moved some into our attached garage. These things are about a month away from blooming so I have to start faking them out!

Bought this thermometer at the Dollar Tree – was pretty pumped about that!

JP played around in the snow for a bit while we waited at the end of the driveway.

Then sis FINALLY arrived! Ugh, poor thing – she didn’t get off the bus until 4:10 because someone threw up on the bus. She was so grossed out and I sent her in to immediately change, wash her hands and I again did you guessed it – another load of laundry. I washed her coat, clothes, everything I could and sprayed her bookbag with lysol. Unfortunately, that might not do anything or maybe the kid doesn’t even have the stomach bug, but no way was I taking this lightly haha!

Made the kiddos their snack plate

They played for a bit and I ignored the messy front room for the millionth time!

Then I made myself a little snack

Then went to pack some of Andrew’s clothes for his trip…he was having a really long day.

At this point Andrew called and said he was going to be late – so I packed all the kiddos up for gymnastics drop off – leaving the front room in this state.

We decided to stay and wait at her class instead of packing the kiddos up,g going home, and packing them back up again!

The boys had fun playing!

I didn’t get dinner out so we could go out to celebrate Andrew, so after gymnastics we met him at a local restaurant we love!

Pretzel sticks for the win! Yummy dinner was had then back home for Dad to open his gift!

The kiddos were so excited and even more excited to play with the balloons!

It was super late (8:30) so straight up for showers and bed!

This guy was hiding from me…

After I put him down, I went downstairs to tackle the beast…

All done, yay!

Then upstairs to bed (did a little of this blog post)

Removed my makeup and put on some face cream – and that’s a wrap! What a day – certainly an awesome one to document and remember!

I used to do the same thing with our kids whenever anyone got sick at school or karate or anyplace I knew they had been in the same room; anything to try and warn off a possible stomach bug. Hope it was just a fluky thing and you all stay nice and healthy! It sure sounded like a busy day.
