What’s Up Wednesday [01.27.21]

The first What’s Up Wednesday post of 2021! Linking up with some of my favorite bloggers Mix & Match Mama and Sheaffer Told Me To to share what has been happening around here! I LOVE reading these type of posts and I think I’ll especially enjoy looking back at my very own as the years go on!

What We’re Eating This Week…

My favorite Breakfast!

This is my favorite combo – oatmeal, Granny Smith apple slices, craisins, cinnamon and a drizzle of agave. I highly recommend giving it a try!

or this!

I’ve also been making these bowls for lunch – a little 90 second quinoa brown rice blend, some veggies, chicken, hummus and some homemade citrus vinaigrette.

We had a Costco haul this weekend and snagged some Alfredo sauce – we love switching up pasta night! Here my husband air fried some lemon pepper chicken tenders, we placed on a bed of noodles and topped with some cheesy alfredo! YUM and so easy!

Speaking of Costco, we bought tons of berries and spent a lot of time vinegar soaking, cleaning and drying in order to store in airtight containers for ready to go snacking! The amount of fruit we go through in this house is insanity.

What I’m Reminiscing About

Early Morning coffee outside

Early mornings filled with sunshine and some coffee – I MISS YOU!

What I’m Loving…

My coffee bar screaming Valentine’s Day!

Loving the newest edition to my valentine’s decor – this adorable kitchen towel.

…the sweetest moments and our new little book worm!

Visiting Gigi! Lifts her spirits every time! Can you tell the kids are OBSESSED?!

Nespresso Vanilla cappuccinos!

These cleaning cloths!

I’ve been trying to find something to help me avoid using SO many paper towels and this set of cloths is SO GOOD! The microfiber scrubbing cloth is just want I need for everyday cleaning – it absorbs spills like magic! The dusting cloth is so great – the dust particles cling so well to it. Popped these in the washing machine – OBSESSED!

What We’ve Been Up To…

Winter Hikes

We haven’t been on one in a hot minute because the past couple weeks have been BITTER COLD! BUT, we’ve been making an effort to get out and about to exercise and try to enjoy what the season here in Northeast Ohio has to offer!

Keepin it Fresh around here – all.winter.long

No joke – weekend mornings, Andrew and I wake up completely daunted by the day and ask ourselves what are we going to do with the kids today?!

To help keep it fresh and fun during the winter months trapped inside (particularly here in Northeast Ohio and trust me as mentioned above, we do try to get outside as much as we can) I started a fun little blog series providing you with 4-5 activities you can do with your kids during the week. They are SIMPLE, INEXPENSIVE and some a little outside the box!

Here are the activity ideas for this week:
You can check out descriptions of each in my post.

Dance Class

Audrey has been loving her ballet/tap class! Such a cute little ballerina!

What I’m Dreading…

A 6am HIIT class at the gym, but I NEED IT!

What I’m Working On…

Flower Farmer Course

I’ve been taking a flower farming course and am SO SO excited to apply the things I’ve learned and expand our cut garden out back!

If you are looking to start a little cut garden yourself, I shared some of my absolute favorite, easy to grow flowers.

What I’m Excited About…

Family vacation

We have just about finalized our March vacation and cannot wait! We cancelled it last year and the kids have been so patient! I threw out the idea of doing a big family vaca last year and everyone jumped on board but because it was a little last minute, our lodging situation was TIGHT. Due to an unexpected situation with the condo renter and a little more time, we were able to find an awesome place to house 15 people! Cannot wait!

What I’m Watching/Reading…

We’ve taken a pause on shows – waiting for some new seasons to come our on some of our favorite previous show, but do have a list right now of new ones we would like to watch!

Zombies 1 & 2 Disney Movies

The kids LOVE these movies, I wasn’t sure it was age appropriate at first, but they are actually very cute! My husband and I have been sucked in and find ourselves watching these movies too – so good!

The Other Mrs.

Still working through this one!

I’m pretty excited to read this one. Of course, another pysch-thriller

What I’m Listening To

Mentioned above: Zombies 1 & 2 Soundtrack… once you listen, you won’t stop. SO GOOD – the kids dance to the songs everyday!

What I’m Wearing…

Haven’t worn too many things that are different than my normal comfies! These PJ bottoms are an absolute dream!

Still been loving this little puffer jacket!

This relaxed sherpa jacket can be dressed up or down and I love how it looks!

What I’m Doing This Weekend…

Filling in our budget and reviewing the month! We’re really trying to challenge ourselves to be smart with our money. You can read about our financial plans for 2021.

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…

A little date night throw in the month to celebrate Valentine’s Day and my 30th!

What Else is New??

Not too much! Feeling weird about turning 30! Time is flying!!

I love the picture of your kiddos reading. Siblings enjoying books together makes my heart melt.

And I remember how much I enjoyed reading about your flower garden last summer. Can’t wait to see what this year’s version looks like!

Thanks Natasha!! Aww, you’re so sweet – I’m excited to see how this year’s garden turns out too!!

We go through an insane amount of fruit each week too— like two trips to the grocery store kind of crazy! On average about 3 bunches of bananas, 4 pineapples, 5 lbs strawberries, 2 bags of grapes (sometimes 4), 10 or so apples, and 2 bags of clementines (off the top of my head!).

It has been so cold here but funny enough after a bit of snowfall overnight it seems bit warmer today.
