What to Do with Kids – Week Two Winter Activity Ideas

If you missed it last week, I shared my new post series to get us through the final weeks of winter. My plan is to share 4-5 simple, inexpensive and easy activities you can do with your kids while stuck inside on a weekly basis! The nice thing about it, you can do them at your leisure or whenever you have the supplies available, but most of these activities can be done using items you have on hand at home!

If you missed last week’s activity ideas:

Sharing this week’s ideas and a description of each! Hope you have some fun with these boredom busters!

Scavenger Hunt

This could be something you write up on a sheet of paper and read off to your kids. It could be played indoors or outdoors. We own these cards and love them.

I also saw these cards which had amazing reviews. They are a little more interactive for toddlers

Make your own sundaes

Super self explanatory and yes, please – sign me up! Buy some ice cream and pull out ALL the fixins!

Play Go Fish

Audrey loves this game and I actually do too! JP still needs help playing, so that’s why Mom and Dad will split up and play teams.

We love these cards below!

“You pick” Favorite Restaurant

Let your kid’s pick out where they want to eat and either dine-in or takeout! If you anticipate differing opinions, designate this week to one child and let the other pick the following week (or whenever you do it again!)

Make a Pine cone bird feeder

I absolutely LOVE this idea! We made these in a nature class the kids went to about a year and a half ago! Such an awesome hands-on activity and if you hang it out near your window, could make for some awesome bird watching!

Sharing these two ideas from the blogs below!
