Mid-Summer Garden Tour: How’s it Going?!

I’m so excited to share a little update on how the cut flower garden is coming along! I was out of town this weekend and came home to find SO many more blooms since I left. Naturally, I threw together some bouquets to stare at! This was a surprise bouquet for Audrey!

I’ve spoken to several friends who are doing a cutting garden and are really enjoying it! Others ran into some difficulty (deer attack) and burn outs. These gardens can definitely be time consuming – particularly when there is no rainfall for 2 weeks and 90 degree temps – but it’s a hobby for me so it is worth the work.

Weekend Top 4 – July 4th Weekend!

What a weekend! We prepared most of the week (even last week) for my husband’s 30th birthday party and we are SO SO pleased with the outcome of the party! He had a blast and so did our friends and family – it was such a great evening!

The following day we had two other parties to attend so to say we were exhausted come Sunday was an understatement. We couldn’t stop saying how much fun we had this weekend and are so blessed with amazing family and friends!

Life Lately: What’s Going On!

Oh my goodness, I seriously cannot believe I’ve been gone for a week on here. Honestly, that was not planned and I have no clue how this happened, but I figured I would play catch up on here and share what we’ve been up to lately!

Last week my husband turned 30! We enjoyed some pizza (his favorite) and sherbet to celebrate – along with a HUGE candle!

Cannot wait for the BIG celebration this upcoming weekend!

We’ve been spending a lot of time out in the yard working on some projects we had on our to do list for this summer. Each year we have an idea of certain projects/to-do’s we want to take on and we definitely hit the ground running this past week/weekend!

Friday Favorites – 06.12.20

Happy Friday! The past two weeks have taken a toll on my heart but my prayer and hope is for less judgement for all people and more kindness, love and changes of the heart. Less division in our country and a stop to the bleeding wounds we have. Deep solutions to the problems and issues so many face – a push towards middle ground where we all can meet in agreement and understanding to help lift one another going forward. Putting in the work to become educated on all sides, be an independent thinker, not be naive, and find the absolute truths on all sides.

As of right now, my kiddos don’t see color, but I know I will continue to nurture love in our home, educate and provide encouragement in building authentic relationships as they grow up. After taking a little hiatus, I am excited to feel creative again! I was in such a rut about everything going on and also felt it was best to sit back, listen, read, research, talk with others and educate myself.

What I Cooked Wednesday – Sausage Potato Hash

Today I am sharing an absolute favorite recipe in our house! I LOVE a good breakfast hash, and this was inspired by a hash I got in Denver at brunch during my cousin’s bachelorette party. I came home raving about it to my husband and figured, heck – I could make this!

Now, this particular hash I got had chorizo! You could have chosen bacon or sausage as well, but chorizo was speaking to me that morning.

We like to have ground sausage on hand, so that is what we used for this particular recipe!
