What’s Trending?! Fresh Cut Flowers

What’s trending around our house lately? Plenty of time out in my cutting flower garden! There is always something to do – whether it’s deadheading, pruning, watering or harvesting – I’ve been enjoying all the time out there! The crazy thing – it’s not even that big!

For today’s “What’s Trending” post – I’m sharing some of my favorite garden flowers, views, arrangements and answering some random questions.

Some of my favorite mornings include me, myself, the morning sun, birds and a cup of coffee. It’s so peaceful to head out and see what has bloomed overnight!

My favorite thing to look at are pictures in my photo gallery and how things have progressed exactly ONE month ago –

Isn’t that crazy how things took off?!

How Frequently Do You Harvest Your Flowers?

I would say every other day – I do deadhead, prune and even cut any flowers that are ready to go every evening!

How Many Stems Do You Get Per Harvest?

I easily get about 20-35 stems in one harvest! My Dahlias are just now starting to take off – only 9 out of 25 plants have been giving me blooms right now – so I can’t wait to see how many more come out!

Favorite Cut Flowers?

My favorite cut flowers are Dahlias hands down. The colors are so vibrant and the flower itself is just stunning! Only downside – vase life is not the best…

Zinnias are a close second – again a million colors and styles and what is nice about this variety is that they have a long vase life!

Hydrangeas are my my all time favorite flowers! I love that they are perennials and love all the different varieties and showy blooms they give from summer throughout the fall!

What Do You Do With All The Bouquets?

At first, I would drop off to family and friends (which I still try to do, it’s just hard during the week!)

My husband and I have always said how cool it would be to sell my flowers – so one morning I decided to put some arrangements out at the end of our driveway and have continued doing it since!

I try to make colorful, eye-catching arrangements that people will see!

It has been really fun learning more and more about gardening, flower farming and improving my arrangement building skills! Speaking of which, I just ordered some Flower Food to help keep these bouquets going strong! Lots to learn – but definitely a fun hobby!

Do you love having fresh bouquets weekly at your house?!

That’s what’s trending around here lately! Hope you have a great Thursday!
