Friday Favorites 01.17.20

Happy Friday! It has been absolute craziness over here the past couple weeks and we are ready for a weekend to enjoy now that the kids are starting to feel better! I’m hoping you and your family are staying healthy during this sicky season!

Today, I’m linking up and sharing some Friday Favorites with you all!

Linking up with Andrea and Erika

First off, I can’t believe it’s mid January! Our winter here in Cleveland has not been too bad at all. We have been enjoying some time outside as much as we can. The kids had a nature class about winter sounds. If you’re local, these classes are my favorite and actually the first programs I signed my daughter up for after becoming a stay at home mom.

They are put on by the Lake Metroparks and most of the programs are held in this old little schoolhouse.

The schoolhouse is ADORABLE and located in the most beautiful location. Each program is an hour long (the have 10-11am or 1-2 pm class offering times) consists of a story and snack, some picture or a touch and feel portion, a craft and hike. These programs are so hands on and totally geared for the kiddos!

Making puppet owls

I love doing these because it’s fun to watch them learn, explore and have to listen to someone other than myself (ha!)

Linking the program list and registration page here. If you are a Lake County resident you set dibs on early registration, which is nice because these classes tend to fill up quickly.

Outdoor activities

I took the kids the another local nature center, Penitentiary Glen to go for a little hike, walk, play and get some fresh air!

First, we gave a visit to some of the injured animals they care for.

The fox is our favorite – he is always climbing, jumping from the tree in his shelter or just doing something interesting every time we see him!

The temp hit 50 degrees and he sun kept peaking out every here and there so I thought let’s live it up and do a mini “hike”.

After that my daughter insisted on stopping in their Nature Play area – no one was in there so I set a time limit and ventured back to the enclosed mock campsite area.

Again it was so fun to watch the kids imagination at work! The made a full course meal for me before heading out!

Another fav happening around here…

This cleaning schedule that I have finally started making my daily routine again. I know i mentioned it before but any routine I had in terms of waking up early and staying on top of my house cleaning checklist went down the tubes in the final quarter of 2019 due to Baby T’s arrival.

I have been so excited to perfect and maintain this cleaning schedule in order to keep the house in check.

Exhibit A: a clean kitchen makes me happy!

You can download a free printable oversion of the checklist here.

Spring Vacation Booked

I am so so excited because we booked our return trip back to an awesome, family friendly vacation spot in Florida! Bring on all the sun, sand and water! This year we are bringing the entire family and staying in a 3 bedroom condo!

We can’t wait for all our family members to enjoy the same trip we did last year! My daughter is already counting down the days!

Disney on Ice

We went to Disney on Ice Road Trip Adventures with our brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews. The show truly is spectacular, but if I’m being honest last year’s show – Mickey’s Search Party was 1000 times better IMO (cue ALL the amazing music from Beauty and the Beast, Coco, Moana and Frozen)

Last years show had some really neat parts – the whole Frozen bit was excellent and like the circus on ice as well as the “Be our Guest” performance.

Nevertheless, we still had an awesome time and it was definitely nice to get out of the house and do something downtown!

And that’s a wrap! I hope you have amazing weekend!
