What’s Up Wednesday [03.25.20]

Today, I’m doing another fun link up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer Told Me To where we recap the month with a little this and that! I love these kind of posts – they also make me happy because someday, I can look back at these and they almost serve as a little journal excerpt showing a glimpse of our lives lately!

Is it me, or has March FLOWN – even with all this quarantining (is that a word?), which makes it feel like the days go on F O R E V E R – the month has flown.

What We’re Eating This Week…

I feel like I have been on my “A” game the past week and a half! I can’t wait to share a couple of recipes with you!

  • Chicken Tortilla Soup
  • Grilled Garlic & Herb Pork Tenderloin – Mashed potatoes – Broccoli
  • Ground Turkey Tacos – 90 second Cilantro Lime Rice
  • Burgers – Roasted Brussels – Homemade Potato Wedges
  • Take out at a local restaurant to support their business!
  • Breaded Butterfly Shrimp – French Fries – Salad
  • Banana Bread!

My daughter’s FAVORITE BANANA BREAD

What I’m Reminiscing About…

A time when we were out and about at our own will – playing and visiting friends and family, going to the park, going out to dinner, going to school, attending swim classes, fitness classes…crazy how much you appreciate all those things and take them for granted when you can’t do them whenever you want!

Like playing at the Nature Play park

Having nature class…

Seeing your besties!

Going to the Farmpark!

What I’m Loving…

AT HOME NAILS

Sugar Fix – Sally Hansen matches a beautiful blue spring sky and also my mood recently – consuming every sweet I make to get my “sugar fix” for the day…see what I did there 😉

As always, I top off with the Miracle Gel Top coat

KID’S BATHROOM UPDATE

I’ve shared this previously, but for those of you new here we did some major improvements when we moved into our house a couple years ago, a family friend who is a contractor has here cutting some vents in the flooring and had VERY difficult time.

Sneak peek!

Because we have bigger plans for the house down the line, I didn’t want to go too crazy with a difficult floor project so we decided to try the peel and stick flooring option. I LOVE IT! Super inexpensive option and makes the space look SOO much better!

BIG BOY ROOM

// Rug //

We finally got my son’s room organized an “put together”. I am very pleased with how it turned out! Can’t wait to share all the details and my inspiration board next week!

BABY SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT

Baby T just slept through the night and I’m currently on cloud nine this morning! Hoping this is the new norm!!

What We’ve Been Up To…

HOME APPRAISAL

We had our home appraised a couple weeks ago. While it was exhausting getting some “major” projects done, I am so happy our house is in a really good place. The appraisal went very well and it exceeded our expectations! We are thrilled with our new interest rate!

CANCELLING VACATION 🙁

Sad. mad. super upset. Don’t check the weather of the beach vacation you were supposed to go on…didn’t help me feel better AT.ALL.

THESE ACTIVITIES

You can read all about how we’ve been quarantining here.

What I’m Dreading…

Grabbing a pick up order from Target…

Literally, I have been stalking Target’s website waiting for my favorite baby wipes to come back in stock. It’s just SO crazy the amount of TP and paper towels that have flown off the shelves and are unavailable for shipping EVERYWHERE!

This cracks me up tho…

What I’m Working On…

WEDDING INVITES

I’m working on a couple wedding invites at the moment – even though things are a little uncertain right now – I am praying these brides will have the most beautiful wedding day ever – how sad for those who had to cancel their showers, weddings and honeymoons!

ADDING SPRING DECOR AROUND THE HOUSE

Finally pulled my spring bin from the basement and have decorated the house! Also found some cute wreaths to hang in my cathedral window wall decor!

What I’m Excited About…

STARTING TO MAP OUT MY GARDEN FOR FRESH FLOWERS DAILY!!!

I am getting so excited that it is almost time to start planting. I definitely don’t want to jump the gun here, so I’m starting to gather my seeds/bulbs for mid-April/early May planting!

Some bouquets from last year below!

Zinnias, Glads and Dahlias – Oh MY!
Making arrangements is our FAV!

What I’m Watching/Reading…

Love is Blind

This show is a little too much for my husband and I, but we are sticking it out to see how things play out. Honestly, some of the people on the show should audition for an MTV series…the drama they bring – INTENSE. We just finished the “Meet the Parents” episode.

Still reading…I wonder if I will ever be able to finish a book…I should be able to given the times, but doesn’t appear to be happening for me.

THE PERFECT WIFE

My summary so far from a post last month smh…..This book was off to a little bit of a slow start for me, but now I’m into it. The wife of an AI engineer dies unexpectedly and the husband brings her back to life using technology – he has yet to tell her how she passed and has been keeping things away from her so she can’t find the answer herself…that’s about as far as I am – dying to see now this one ends!

What I’m Listening To…

The Frozen II soundtrack is BOMB!

We’ve been channeling our inner Idina Menzel and some people around the house have not been having it…

What I’m Wearing…

Since we didn’t go on our spring break and I purchased some new clothing – I figured I would do a mini shoot! Note to self: remember to take pictures when the lighting is better….

Jean Jacket // Henley Tank // Wide Leg Linen Pants // Espadrille Sandals

This coral dress paired with these Espadrille ankle sandals! With or without the jean jacket is cute! Super comfortable and forgiving dress!

I will spare us all the pic of me wearing this, but this swimsuit was adorable and I was excited to wear it!

These distressed jeans are my fav along with this tank

But for real…it’s yoga pants/sweats/PJs all day every.day.

These olive green yoga pants are so comfy – high-waisted and smooth

What I’m Doing This Weekend…

NOT. ONE. CLUE…

I might try to get myself together and order Easter basket goodies to be shipped to the house (if everything is not sold out already).

Also,

Potty training our son? That is a lofty goal, but no better time than the present I guess.

Actually, I know – hanging wallpaper in our laundry room! This is the one I purchase!

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…

EASTER SUNDAY!

Though Easter might look a little different this year, I am looking forward to Holy Week.

BEING QUARANTINE FREE?!?!

I’m hoping April 6th is the day…

WARMER WEATHER AND GREEN!

I love when the weather starts turning and we start seeing lush green grass and plants start to bloom!

What Else is New??

I think we covered everything besides the elephant in the room.

I did a poll on my Instagram and COULD NOT believe the outcome…

Please tell me you refrigerate your Oreos?! If you do not, please Amazon Prime yourself a pack of Double Stuffed Oreos and pop them in the fridge…you will be doing yourself a MAJOR service! That is all!

Wishing you a happy and healthy Wednesday!

Sorry to hear about your vacation! I know how you feel. We were supposed to head to Disney in February and had to postpone because we had the flu and now it looks like we’re cancelling altogether because of Covid. Not a fun thought at all.. but I’m hoping to wait until the very last minute and maybe by some miracle the quarantines nationwide will lift??! I can dream anyway. I am going to have to check out that nail polish; I love painting my nails but lately with all the extra hand washing & cleaning nothing is lasting more than a day or two.

Ugh-I’m sorry to hear about your vacation! We were doing the same, trying to hold off to the last possible minute, but we have strict orders here in Ohio to stay home! Gloves for washing the dishes is at least one way to prevent your nails from chipping off super fast – but all the hand washing could mean more polish colors to test out!!

I love that nail polish and YAY YAY YAY for sleeping through the night!!!

We had to cancel a vacation too (because the wedding we were going to was cancelled) and I get how disappointing that is. Boo 🙁

I have The Perfect Wife on my stack of books. I can’t wait to get to it but right now my concentration for reading is not great.

And we rarely have Oreos on hand but we do right now and I’m going to put a few in the fridge. Hopefully they’ll still taste amazing even if they aren’t the double stuffed ones?!?!

The polish color makes me happy! So sad to hear about a wedding being cancelled…I could not even imagine!

Re: the oreos, they are good – but the more filling the better…I even love the mint oreos in the fridge as well!
