What’s Up Wednesday [02.24.21]

It’s the last Wednesday of the month, and that means I’m linking up with some of my favorite bloggers Mix & Match Mama and Sheaffer Told Me To to share what has been happening around here! These are my favorite posts – I LOVE seeing what others have going on and love that I can look back at these someday!

What We’re Eating This Week…

Eat more Veggies!

My husband and I have been making sure to incorporate more veggies into our meals so we’ve been using our air fryer a bunch to help with this! Less meats more veggies and greens! We’re also trying to get the kids to at least try new vegetables even if they don’t like it, at least they gave it a try.

Green Beauty Superfood

My husband had a friend recommend this and honestly I was a) shocked then b) ultra shocked because my husband’s skin looks INCREDIBLE! I’ve since jumped on board because I can tell a HUGE difference! I’m blending it into a smoothie because taking it down in straight up water has been difficult, ha!

What I’m Reminiscing About

A time when we weren’t wearing coats…

I have been missing summer and warmth big time recently! I cannot wait until the weather starts turning and we can go back to enjoy this…

What I’m Loving…

Increased Daylight

It has been so refreshing leaving a dance class or early morning workout class and seeing the sun out and about! Just changes the whole mood of the day – or maybe I’m just that type of person!

What We’ve Been Up To…

Text Neck

Honestly, this is me.

But seriously, last week I shared something I’ve discovered and truly feel it was causing increased migraines, tension headaches & tension/knots in my neck and shoulders. Now, please note I am no Doctor so don’t take this as gospel.

I purchased this gadget and cannot wait to use it every night. I have been WAYYY more aware of stretching my neck and doing counteractive stretches

Easy, Inexpensive Boredom Busters

To help keep it fresh and fun during the winter months trapped inside (particularly here in Northeast Ohio and trust me as mentioned above, we do try to get outside as much as we can) I started a fun little blog series providing you with 4-5 activities you can do with your kids during the week. They are SIMPLE, INEXPENSIVE and some a little outside the box!

6 weeks of ideas below!

Family Room Sleepover

Our boiler decided to stop working on the coldest nights of the year – so that called for a big ole sleepover in the family room where we have a gas fireplace.

The kids had a blast so that’s all that matters!

What I’m Dreading…

Not too much at the moment.

What I’m Working On…

Seed Starting

This is so exciting! I’m trying to get a jump start on the season this year and look forward to enjoy blooms spread out all summer long!

Also experimenting with some different techniques – i.e. milk carton greenhouses for hardy annuals!

If you are looking to start a little cut garden yourself, I shared some of my absolute favorite, easy to grow flowers.

What I’m Excited About…

The beach!

I am so so ready for our family vacation to Florida! We put it off last year and the kids have been asking about it ever since it was cancelled. I’m sure it will be a little chaotic – 8 adults, 4 kiddos under 5yo and 3 little peeps under 2 – send prayers!

What I’m Watching/Reading…

The Other Mrs.

This one. WOW – had me engaged the entire time and could not put it down! So many twists and turns – I was on the edge of my seat!

A woman, Sadie Faust, her husband, Will, and sons move from Chicago to an island in Maine after inheriting her sister-in-laws home and taking custody of their niece due to a tragic suicide. Shortly after moving in, a murder rocks the island community. Sadie is drawn to trying to figure out what really happened the evening her neighbor was murdered as all eyes are on her and her family. This psych-thriller takes you for a ride as Sadie dives deeper and deeper into the case and discovers it is much closer to home than she thinks.

The Bachelor

My husband and I just caught up on The Bachelor and I’m happy we did! I really like Matt and the final three girls are just so sweet! Loving this season!

What I’m Listening To

Disney’s ZOMBIES/ZOMBIES 2 SOUNDTRACK – ALWAYS! Hi, I’m 30 years old and absolutely know every word to both soundtracks.

What I’m Wearing…

Literally same old stuff – anything that will keep me cozy! I did score some awesome deals in store at Walmart as they were clearing out winter stuff!

This AVIA funnel neck zip up

I did start a Poshmark site to sell some items for cheap and I hope to keep filling that closet as time goes on!

What I’m Doing This Weekend…

Planting more seeds and getting organized for vacation! Need to start taking inventory on what we have and need!

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…

SPRING! I cannot wait!

What Else is New??

Speaking of new, we had a new boiler put in last week and while it was a big unexpected cost, I’m trying to see the positives in everything. There is only one piece of equipment in our basement that has not been touched. Everything else is brand new and we did the necessary research in hopes there will be no more issues for at least a decade! Time to start building up that emergency/savings fund again!
