What to Do with Kids – Week Six Winter Activity Ideas

Good morning! We are having a little heat wave around here – it’s a BALMY 37 degrees, but it is making me hopeful that spring is near! We just need to stick it out another month or so and we’ll be able to start shaking that cabin fever! Today, I’m sharing week six of our “What to Do: Winter Activity Ideas”. We’ve been enjoying these activities and it is a great way to switch things up! Hope these give you some ideas and would love to hear any boredom busters you use at your house!

Sharing this week’s ideas and a description of each! Hope you have some fun with these boredom busters!

Kidz Bop Dance Videos

My kiddos LOVE these Kidz Bop dance along videos. They are a lot of fun and I actually find myself jumping in from time to time – it’s such a great workout! This one if our favorite!

Make Your Own Trail Mix

It’s been a while since we’ve done this, but the kids enjoy making their own trail mix. Set out a bunch of ingredients and allow your kids to scoop in whatever combination of nuts, seeds and treats they want. Our favorites – M&M’s, sunflower seeds, chocolate covered raisins and almonds.

Bingo Night

This Bingo game set is awesome! This is a great way for youngsters to start identifying numbers. There are some kid friendly bingo options out there, but this will get some good use out of it! You could also have the kids throw in some money from their piggy bank or have them pick a prize from a bin of Dollar Tree goodies.

Fancy Dinner Night

Clear the dust off your dining room table, pull out the china, make a yummy meal and have everyone get really dressed up! A great way to change up dinner! I’m sure the kiddos will feel really cool attending such a fancy dinner party!

Finish a 500 – 1,000 Piece Puzzle

The kids are able to do a 100 piece puzzle with some assistance (they have some good Craze-Art puzzles at Dollar Tree) – but it still takes a decent amount of time to finish this size. Working as a family to complete a 500 piece puzzle would be a great way to pass the time with you and your kids.
