What’s Up Wednesday [06.24.20]

Today, I’m doing another fun link up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer Told Me To where we recap the month with a little this and that! I love these kind of posts – they also make me happy because someday, I can look back at these little “journal” excerpts showing a glimpse of our lives lately!

What We’re Eating This Week…

First off, these on REPEAT…they are delish!

I’ve bought a spare container to save for when guests come over because the kids are unable to restrain themselves (and myself for that matter). These mini brownies from Aldi are SO GOOD!

In terms of REAL food!
Monday: TOTALLY RANDOM – Turkey sandwiches?
Tuesday: Balsamic roasted brussels, mushrooms & onion with brown rice
Wednesday: Spaghetti and meatballs; garlic toast
Thursday: Breakfast sandwiches and hash browns
Friday: Eating out for hubby’s 30th birthday?! Or grilling at home!

I can’t wait to share this recipe – Zucchini roll ups– we’ve made them several times and absolutely rave about them every single time! I doubled this batch to send over to my sister-in-law and brother because they had a baby last week!

What I’m Reminiscing About

Past vacations and how time flies!

We are planning on taking a vacation to northern Michigan in August and it had me thinking it’s been almost 2 years since we were there last! Every time we leave vacation, I am always sad thinking that we will be another year older the next time we’re back…depressing I know, but I can’t believe how big the kiddos are getting 🙁

Look how little they are!!

Can’t wait to see this again! And enjoy this…

Look how BEAUTIFUL this lake is! Crystal clear!

What I’m Loving…

Our weather!

Our weather has been AMAZING! Sunshine, blue skies and nice temps!

These pool floats

These.floats. I seriously cannot rave about them more. They are inexpensive, comfortable, cute and don’t take up a ton of space like all the other floats do. I am so excited to have these for people when they come swim – I ordered two additional ones!
NOTE: I got mine for $15.99 and noticed the price is now $36.99 for that particular color…if you click around there are some colors for cheaper prices (i.e. Navy for $13.99) and I think they change it every now and then so I suggest keeping an eye out if there is one color you’re sold on.

They have great reviews and a million colors/styles to choose from! Look how nice and compact they are for storage!

Our front bed landscaping

You can read all about it here, but in summary we planted nearly 65 plants in the front bed near the street on our property. Here is a before picture…

I am so proud EVERYTHING came back and is doing incredible!

My Coffee Stand

I seriously don’t want to swap out for July because I love the vibe SO MUCH!

Hmm, maybe I’ll bring it back for August?!

What We’ve Been Up To…

New landscaping projects

We finally painted our pool deck and added some plants to fill in all the bare spots around.

A before shot below…

Party planning

I ordered all the food and I’m so excited to actually be able to relax and enjoy the celebration without the obligation of having to cook. Whenever we host a party, I basically feel like I am in the kitchen the ENTIRE time!

Patching

Sissy has been doing an amazing job patching 2.5 hours every day. We try try try to get 3 hours plus, but it is HARD! I’ve found it is WAYY easier on all of us if we patch her early in the morning. I give her an hour or so to eat breakfast, relax and/or watch a cartoon before getting started. She is SO incredible and truly a great listener.

What I’m Dreading…

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Having my wisdom teeth removed next month…At least only 2 of the 4 need to be removed. I don’t even know why I’m so nervous about it, but wish me luck!!

What I’m Working On…

Invitations

With things opening back up, weddings are a GO (YAY!) so back on the invite grind again! Here is a picture of one that is similar to what I am working on now!

Organizing our laundry room…

It’s a sheer disaster and I’ve had a roll of adorable wallpaper sitting on top of the dryer for months…

What I’m Excited About…

My husbands 30th birthday party!

I am SO excited to celebrate Andrew’s 30th! I can’t wait to see an end to our to-do’s list. We have some fun things planned – one of which might include friends camping out in our backyard?!

July 4th!

My brother and sister-in-law host a Fourth of July party at their house every year and we watch fireworks from their front yard! I’m hoping they still plan to shoot them off this year – such a fun time!

What I’m Watching/Reading…

The Island

I am loving this book already! Such an easy summer read and I cannot wait to see where the story lines go!

Mission Impossible: The Fallout

So late to the game, but this movie was SO GOOD. This is another long movie, so make sure you aren’t starting it at 11:30 pm like we did…

What I’m Listening To…

Currently listening to Kacey Musgraves Golden Hour soundtrack on this rainy Tuesday!

If you haven’t listened to this entire album – DO IT NOW!

What I’m Wearing…

Gosh, how boring I’ve been. Same old, same old. Athleisure…

What I’m Doing This Weekend…

Getting everything lined up for the big BIRTHDAY party! Grabbing some items we need around the house, essentials from Costco.

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…

Bachelorette Party

My girlfriend is getting married in August and I am SO excited for her bachelorette party in Northern Michigan! Two times to northern Michigan in one year, I’ll take it!

What Else is New??

Little baby Garrett is new! My brother and sister-in-law welcomed their third baby last week! He is a total cutie pie! We now have 6 nieces and nephews!

Aw, what an adorable little nephew to add to the mix! I have 19 nieces and nephews; it’s nuts when we all get togther. I know what you mean about family vacation planning… we’re at the point where I know in the next year or two or three my oldest most likely won’t even be joining us as he’s now a junior in high school! They grow so fast.
