Weekend Rewind: Weekend Top 4

Happy Monday everyone! One of the main purposes of why I wanted to start this blog was to also selfishly force myself to “journal” things going on with my family. I am also the absolute WORST picture taker of all time, so hopefully this will force me to stop and document moments because the kiddos are not going to get any younger 🙁

What we thought would start as a relaxing weekend, turned into another crazy one again! Also, how is it the last week of July…?  This summer is moving crazy fast, but I don’t even want to think about that! We have a lot of fun and exciting things happening ahead and for our month of August!

Floor project

Okay, so I am just so STOKED that a project on our list of to-dos was unexpectedly finished! My husband and I could not be more EXCITED with the outcome! He just decided he was going to start laying this wood look peel and stick vinyl flooring we purchased for our downstairs full bath Saturday morning, and I was not going to argue that! Also a major reminder this weekend that I am absolutely NO good at math – like not even the slightest – so many EMBARASSING moments!

Guys, this floor had my cringing every time I would step foot into that room.

It’s not that it was in bad shape by any means—the issue was it was a little outdated, white and every piece of dirt/dust would show no matter how frequently it was cleaned. I had major OCD walking in there! Will be sharing all the details in an upcoming post, but in the meantime – here is the transformation! Truly such an easy and inexpensive project!

Family Party and Birthday Breakfast

We had a housewarming party on Saturday for my cousin and his wife – such an amazing house they have and spent our Sunday morning for breakfast at my parents celebrating my brother’s birthday. The kiddos got to see their cousins double time this weekend, which they are always stoked about! UGH, did not get ONE picture from these events, see what I mean…

Pool time

We have been really enjoying our pool all summer. We moved into a house with a pool last year – though it makes us paranoid with the kiddos, it has been an amazing thing to have! It makes me happy seeing family and friends relaxing and enjoying it! I remember WISHING so bad that I had a pool when I was little (same with my Mom)!

One cool chick right there!

My daughter loves to swim and could stay in the pool floating all afternoon if she could. She and I had some really nice one on one relax time, which I am embracing so much right now! I especially have been trying to utilize it because once baby comes, I’m unable to swim until healed (4-6 weeks) – so unfortunately my pool pass will be revoked early this year  L

Invite wrap up

It was so nice reconnecting with someone my husband and I went to grade school with. She reached out to see if I could do her wedding invites and I was so happy to – especially because I love the style she was going for!

I raced around doing the 15 minute clean up…anyone else fly around like a wild woman and stuff toys in places they shouldn’t go to make sure your house at least look slightly presentable? Ha, that’s my life…Sneak preview of the invites below – info blurred for confidentiality purposes!

Hope you all had an amazing weekend and have a great week ahead! Be sure to check out my Spinach Feta Turkey Burger recipe coming at you on Wednesday!
