Vacation Rewind: Pure Michigan

Happy Monday! We returned home from our vacation and wow, is there a lot to get organized today! We had an amazing vacation, while tiring vacationing with three little kiddos, we are sad see another trip and summer come to a close.

We made are way up to Northern Michigan with my parents and Aunt, Uncle and two cousins.

How we fit 7 people and all our baggage in one vehicle is beyond me!

We arrived about 6 hours later and headed straight to the water!

It was this guy’s first time at the lake! Audrey has been there 3 times already!

The Higgins water is CRYSTAL CLEAR! Always in shock at how you can see the bottom so clearly even in 8-10 feet of water!

How About these Sunrises?!

This was absolutely STUNNING! I wish I could have enjoyed a nice cup of coffee and a book, but did not want to wake the cabin up!

We swam a lot!

Floated a lot!

Enjoyed some boat rides…

Difference between shallow and deep water – the light sand down below makes the water look SO blue!

And just enjoyed the beautiful weather and sunshine we had!

“Ladies Night” was a total hit! We had a blast making our own bracelets! It was so addicting we even made some first thing the following morning!

Somebody turned ONE and I am still in shock…where did the time go?!

Let’s not fool you!

Kiddos and going on vacation are EXHAUSTING! We always laugh that our vacation is basically regular life, just in a new location. The logistics of naps, bedtime, diaper changing, one child not wanting to swim, etc…is just a lot. The kids did really well, but these candid shots from my cousin make me laugh. Vacationing with kids in a nutshell…

My Two Cents…

Two things I wanted to share if you are vacationing with kiddos.

We almost always find a playground to take the kids to while out of town. It let’s them burn off some steam and in our case, gives other family members a break from being bombarded by the kids

This tote worked wonders for transporting ALL the things from cabin to dock all week long! I love that it is plastic, can get wet and be cleaned easily. I purchased these from the Dollar Tree!
