Tip Jar: Lists and Reminders

Good morning and happy Tuesday! I’m posting this Tip Jar Tuesday a bit late, but oh well! The kiddos had a great Halloween, the weather was beautiful, but there are still some lingering sickies in the house so we have been laying low (including myself!). Andrew and I head about of town later this week for a wedding, so I’m trying to get things in order around here before we leave!

Speaking of getting things in order, I wanted to share something that has been extremely helpful for me!

First off, I’ve shared how I use my planner and am part of team “physically write my to-do’s”, but recently I’ve needed a master list to keep to’do’s so I wasn’t writing them week after week! I also needed a place to quickly jot down my thoughts or add to the “master lists” I already have either on my computer or in my planner.

While I still write things in my planner (more of the urgent need to get done this week items), I have been using my phones reminder app A LOT more! It has been extremely helpful and here’s how I use it!

The app is called Reminders…

(Don’t ask about my phone organization or mass amounts of unimportant emails I haven’t had the time to sift through ha!)

Open and you are able to add as many category lists as needed – here are some examples of mine! I use the grocery list practically everyday – adding needed items to this list at the moment I notice we are out of something.

Once you click through to your list you have many different options. You can choose to show completed tasks or hide them.

I choose to show them because that is my personality type. They appear faded with the bubble filled in at the bottom of the list.

Here’s a better example for you to see. You are able to clear all the completed if you want as well. I usually clear out after my grocery trip.

Another feature, you are able to sort my priority, due date or created date. This is extremely helpful! It will send a reminder to you if need something done on a particular day.

For example, I made a list of things needed for my Mom’s retirement party. I was able to send reminders and alarms so I knew when things needed to be picked up etc!

This list was helpful to send out to family who were helping with the party!

One thing I have kept on as a list is the Cedar Point pack list – I should probably just change title to “Pack List”. I am going to keep this on my phone as a standard packing list for trips. I’m always writing out a list over and over, but if I keep this template version, it will be super convenient and save me time next time we travel!

Well, I hope this was helpful – but also curious – are there any to-do list tips/tricks you swear by?!
