Life Lately: Whirlwind Week

This week has definitely FLOWN given the circumstances in my opinion. We have been doing good keeping the norm around here, but it’s also hard not to think about how long these troubling times will last!

We are trying to stay positive, but the one thing we are all really bummed about is cancelling our vacation. We were SO looking forward to some sun, warmth and making memories with the kids and it is always surreal to me that we will most likely have to wait ONE WHOLE YEAR for this trip. The kids will be ONE YEAR OLDER and that is sad for me to think about.

Okay, enough of the sob story, I would like to get on here and share some positive things that have been happening! I’m sorry for the poor posting this week, like I said, the week completely slipped away from me and I was not prepared at all!

Home Appraisal

Our home appraisal worked out in our favor and we are so pleased with the savings benefits that we will reap long term!

We spent this weekend busting out projects, which was both crazy and amazing to complete. I literally was running around, cleaning and reorganizing displaced items until the last possible minute on top of trying to complete an update of our two upstairs bathrooms.

Also, wallpaper removal – could be the death of me.

Upstairs bathroom Update

This was a major CHECK off our to do list. I feel like this has been looming over our heads for a while and now we are SO THRILLED with how this turned out! I will post before and after pictures, STAY TUNED!

Major shout out to my husband, his parents and my parents for their help always!

Big Boy Room

We also were forced to finish and organize JP’s big boy room – it was halfway done for a while and we were able to finish it up! Stay tuned for more details here, but for now a little sneak peek for you!

First Words: MAMA

This was new for me! Audrey and JP’s first words were Dada, so to hear little T say Mama, let alone anything, was so cool – especially when he has been so quiet for so long! He absorbs everything that goes on around him and would rarely babble – so this was fun for us all to hear!

St. Patrick’s Day!

I ran out to the store SUPER early to grab anything I forgot or that was sold out and decided to snag some donuts to brighten our mood!

This year we were planning to bring corned beef dinner over to my Grandma, but given the circumstances, we cancelled that (good thing too because I completely under estimated the corned beef I purchase…)

We made sure to send Gigi a picture of us in our green. She always says on St. Patty’s Day, make sure you have your green on!

We enjoyed some yummy corned beef sandwiches, stewed potatoes, carrots and onions, some roasted brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes.

We also made some lime jello shamrocks (or at least attempted to!)

Our dining room is fully organized now, so we were able to eat out there. It used to serve as our office (since we don’t have an office). We ended up moving a ladder desk that has been in our basement since we moved in up to our bedroom – which works better for us now especially since my husband is working from home!

I had this table setting set up from a couple weeks ago!

We had to postpone our Disney trip in Feb. when we got the flu and now it looks like we’re going to have to cancel our trip altogether. It is frustrating and sad… all that money wasted and we’ve gotten our hopes up twice now about this trip. LOL. But what can you do? Right?!

Oh my goodness! – a total bummer! You’re right, nothing we can do about it! Praying for warm weather at home for us both in the meantime and that our trips can be rescheduled soon!
