Life Lately: Back At IT – 9/6/19

Oh my goodness, what a couple weeks it has been! I have felt so out of the loop and like I am constantly playing catch up! I seriously cannot even complain because it has been so great to finally be up from the couch. Seriously guys, the botched epidural was the craziest thing that happened and of course we would be the “1%” that this happens too! I was telling people this delivery was one of the easiest for me – no issues outside the epidural, we arrived on time, five pushes – I’m telling you, I could have walked out of the hospital that day, that’s how good I was feeling! So needless to say it was extra hard when 99% of the experience was beautiful and truly amazing and just that 1% had ruined it big time for me.

That being said, I was trying so hard to be positive – I know there are people out there who are suffering through way worse, so that is just what I kept praying about. Yes, I broke down in tears many times – due to pain, due to the fact I could hardly look down at our newborn because of my stiff neck, due to sadness that I could literally not do a thing but lay flat on the couch, due to the fact I felt I was “missing” so much of my other two big kids lives (hormones I think!)- but my husband was constantly reminding me that we are so blessed and that this is something that would in fact go away. Even though at times, I felt like I was going to be in this amount of pain FOREVER.

It made me reflect…how difficult it must be for people who are constantly suffering from terminal illness – what strength, patience and perseverance that must take to handle all the daily struggles. When you think about that, it truly puts things into perspective. I pray for all those out there who have to deal with any type of suffering/struggle on a daily basis and for those who are stuck in the hospital – may God heal you and give you strength every day!

Life Lately

Well as you all saw, it started out a little rough, but baby T has been an angel! We are falling into routine, getting the house back in order and I am now a fully functioning Mom again. Since my husband has gone back to work, I have been able to see what life with three littles will be and honestly I can say – it is not too bad! Preschool starting has been a huge help, even though it is only 3 days a week for 3 hours!

So, since I was out of commission last week, I felt like playing catch up with a “two-week rewind” featuring some of our “tops”. I do have to say, I have been itching to get back to writing blog posts – that is how I know I have done the right thing by starting this blog up! It really makes me happy!

Baby T was born!
Thomas Andrew arrived 2 weeks early, and thank gosh – I’m not sure how I would feel about pushing out a 9 pounder! He is the sweetest and cuddliest little man and he just fits in with our family! Audrey and JP absolutely love him and are the best big brother and sister!

Welcome to the world, sweet boy!
Totally loved, no personal space… EVER.

I’m back!
Ugh, after pretty much a week on the couch, I was back in action after the epidural mishap! My husband was an amazing Mr. Mom and it was super helpful to have him and family around to help. I have loved being able to complete tasks around the house, grocery shop, work outside in the yard and just play with the kiddos…it is crazy how being stuck on the couch made me go stir crazy!

This picture cracks me up haha, but this is the state I was in…
After recovering…much better and happier!

Mulch laying/garden bed clean up
Like I said, I was so happy to head back out to the garden to clean it up a bit. We had mulch delivered for our front bed (post linked here of when we redid the whole DANG thing!) and cutting garden – it is looking so much cleaner!

Our cutting garden definitely had a slow start this season, but now the Dahlias and Zinnias are going CRAZY!

Hall of Fame Induction
How I was able to attend this was beyond me, ha! We had our High School Hall of Fame induction ceremony and I was already convinced I wouldn’t be able to attend thinking Tommy would arrive right around that time – well we threaded the needle with the birth and even my recovery and I was able to attend the ceremony and football game. Totally honored that the committee selected me especially among a group of super athletic guys! It was a really neat experience to share with my family as well – I really enjoyed it!

Audrey turns 4!
I cannot even believe my little bug is FOUR! Where has the time gone?! Audrey had a pretty nice little weekend starting with going out to breakfast (per her request), cutting some flowers to match her room and heading to the County Fair for some good ole fashioned fun, farm animals, food (I finally had a HOT DOG, yes!) and rides! So nice our family came and roughed the crowds – totally was not expecting it to be a big thing, but WOW it was!

Ready for her birthday breakfast!

The County Fair
We had so much fun with family at the County fair – it worked out perfect it was Audrey’s birthday, so it made it a little extra special, but to me the fair signifies the end of summer. Every time there is a yearly event come and gone, it kind of makes me sad thinking that the next time we will be there (whether vacation, a holiday or special event) will be the following year and the kiddos will be ONE YEAR BIGGER, ugh!

Two cutie cousins <3

Preschool begins
My daughter had her first day of Pre-S this week – like I said just a couple days a week for half the day. She absolutely loves it and it is the same school she went to last year, which makes things a breeze – she knows the drill! Those three hours she is at school have allowed me to spend some quality time with JP and I was cracking up when he started following me around the house and turned into my little minion while big sis was gone!

Please stop growing up…

Walks in the park

Since Audrey has been at Preschool and my sister-in-law is on maternity with their cutie little man, we have been planning to meet up at the park and go for walks. Obviously the walks are much more manageable with 2 kiddos rather than 3 – otherwise would be a total baby brigade…

Embracing the last of pool season!
We have been trying to get as much out of swim season as possible and any day in the upper 70’s, we are out there! I’m hoping we still have some 80 degree days in store for us because I am going to miss swimming (even though my swimming season is done since baby T) and hanging out in the gazebo!
