Happy Wednesday, hump day and last day in July everyone! Before I jump in and share some random tidbits about myself, I wanted to share that today is the day my husband and I are getting our cash envelope ready for our August food/eating out budget envelope! I don’t know why I am so excited, but I think the challenge is bringing out my competitive spirit and I just want to see how well we can do on truly slicing this food spend in half! You can read about how we track our expenses here, and why we decided to challenge ourselves this month.
Okay back to it, what a crazy week and a half it has been trying to get all my ducks in a row to kick start this blog! I have had such an urge to do it for quite some time now, but also had some reservations that I know will be worth it in the end!
Having been off social media for about a year and a half, I have to say, it really was something really enjoyed and was a huge relief to me. Now mind you, obviously social media is SO amazing for many things—i.e. staying in touch with friends and family and just being in the know, but as we all know it also has its downfalls too – like the amount of time spent scrolling through and the facades that people can create, which can put others down unfortunately! Needless to say I was hesitant to start this thing up, but being 100% real is my goal here and I want to be able to share so much with all of you! So stick with me as I step out of my own comfort zone and try my best to make my blog a place where you can come to learn something and help you find a solution to whatever problem/task you need help with in the realms of budgeting, looks for less, recipes, tips and tricks regarding family, lifestyle and being a stay at home mom.
Okay, so here’s a little more about me—I’m Lisa, the girl behind Lisa’s Two Cents Blog:
- I have been married 5 years to my grade school sweetheart and we are parents to our two incredible kids – a girl (4 years old) and a boy (2 years old)— I’m not sure why I am paranoid about sharing their names even lots of pics, do any other #mombloggers feel this way too, advice?!
- We are expecting our 3rd baby in early September, it’s a BOY!
- I’m a stay at home mom, but worked as a Marketing Analyst for 5 years before being blessed with the privilege to stay home with our kiddos
- I run a part time wedding invitation business – LMH Custom Invites—slowly but surely will get things moving with that soon—possibly a website or Etsy shop, but have basically stayed super busy from the many referrals family and friends have given me! It is such a fun and creative outlet for me and I love looking for ways to save brides A LOT of money on their invites and other cohesive printable pieces.
- I am BEYOND blessed with an amazing and close knit family and also lots of sweet little nieces and nephews!
- I grew up with two older brothers, so girl stuff has been a slow and steady learning process, ha!
- I love sports, particularly golf (which I haven’t played for years now due to kids, ha…so sad) I played Division 1 in college – incredible sport for girls and so much opportunity from a scholarship perspective
- I always like to say I am an introvert/extrovert – I love chatting and connecting with people, but really do prefer just enjoying ‘me’ time and my little bubble at home and with family
I am anxious to see where My Two Cents goes from here and totally hope you enjoy reading, learning and connecting with me! Thanks for your support!
