What’s Up Wednesday [05.27.20]

Today, I’m doing another fun link up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer Told Me To where we recap the month with a little this and that! I love these kind of posts – they also make me happy because someday, I can look back at these little “journal” excerpts showing a glimpse of our lives lately!

What We’re Eating This Week…

We had family over and a cookout this weekend – so leftovers it’s been!

Yesterday, we had balsamic oven roasted brussels, zucchini and onion served on a bed of whole grain rice

We’re planning on having salmon this week, which I am very excited about, my husband grills up the best salmon! I did a post about it and dished the details on this secret weapon

What I’m Reminiscing About

When the two big kiddos were babies

Watching Tommy grow over the past nine months has made me realize just how fast time flies. He does so many similar things that the kids used to do when they were babies and it’s sad that he will outgrow all of that soon just like the other two! Trying to embrace every moment!

Going to parks, zoos and playgrounds

Not sure if we’ll be able to do that this year – I used to take the kids to our local Farmpark on a picnic pretty much every week!

Summer festivals

I love taking the kiddos to summer church festivals and events all summer long – just not seeing that as something that will be happening this year!

What I’m Loving…

My husband working from home

It has been really nice having my husband home! He has saved so much time on his commute and has been able to make so many memories with the kids – pretty cool! I give him credit, it is probably not easy, but he has been getting the job done (literally). It has also been helpful for me, during nap times I have actually been able to run out and do errands – super nice!

The long summer days!

I love how early the sun is up and how late it sets! We definitely make the most of it! Bedtimes have been confusing, ha!

What We’ve Been Up To…

Playing outside

We’ve been outside NON-STOP – not complaining about that because I LOVE it!

Getting the yard summer ready

We’ve finally pulled out all the patio furniture, got the pool set up and planted flowers and herbs!

Planting my cut flower garden

Love that things are already starting to pop through!

Planting all my planters!

I shared these in a post and on my Instagram last week! I absolutely love these Aldi planters!

What I’m Working On…

Invite orders!

With things opening back up, weddings are no longer on hold, so I’m working on several wedding invitations!

Plus, an adorable virtual baby shower idea!

Speaking of invites, I finally made it official and started an LLC! Can’t wait to see how I can grow my invite business!

Staining our pool deck and gazebo

I could not look at it any longer! The wood was looking so yucky and I’m not sure the wood was every stained or sealed before!

We used a semi-solid deck stain from Sherwin Williams and we LOVE how it turned out! Still a decent amount to finish up, but I will try to do a little everyday!

What I’m Excited About…

Pool days!

Sitting out here in the mornings

I love sitting on this porch and on the gazebo in the mornings! The best way to start the day!

Things opening up!

I know it is not going to be the same, but at least things are taking a turn in the right direction!

What I’m Watching/Reading…

The Island

I am just starting The Island by Elin Hildebrand! I won the Kindle from a giveaway done by Shay at Mix & Match Mama and I cannot wait to use it! I am super excited to have the Libby app – where you can download any book through your local library and send it to you Kindle!

Avengers

My husband and I have been watching the final two Avengers movies – Infinity War and End Game. They are both very good and very LONG! We watched them over the course of a week at our leisure! I haven’t seen all the other Marvel movies, but I understood what was going on…

What I’m Listening To…

The sounds of summer 🙂 The birds chirping in the morning is just so peaceful!

What I’m Wearing…

I haven’t bought any new clothes in a LONG time – which is good – I need to go through my closet and wear what I have already!

I went from wearing a full on sherpa this month…

…to this suit…

I posted about this suit in my “Prime Time” post and I really do love it! Now, personally, I feel like the sarong makes it too!

I LOVE this sarong! I bought it a couple years ago when we were going on a bunch of family vacations, and it is the perfect cover up!

Here is my uniform basically every day – except I’m normally wearing flip flops. So boring and a shirt and shorts I’ve had forever…

Found a similar style shirt here. Jean shorts are Old Navy!

I also realized, I now need cute athletic shorts… I literally have ONE pair and that’s not going to cut it – esp. because we are at home so much!

What I’m Doing This Weekend…

This weekend is supposed to be a little chilly and cloudy – I’m thinking snuggles and movies! Also, I like to use those days as a reset to get things done around the house because in the summer, I push any indoor project aside because I NEED to be outside if the weather is nice!

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…

30th Birthday Party!

My husband’s 30th birthday party planning! I cannot wait to start getting things together. He totally ruined my surprise idea saying he did not want one at all…instead we are going to do it at the house!

What Else is New??

Not too much more – just getting excited for things to return back to some sort of normalcy!
