May 2021 Garden Update

Happy Monday! Hope you have an amazing Mother’s Day weekend! This weekend my Mom and I went to a local plant sale and I stopped up at a garden center – let’s just say I’m itching to start planting outside, but hard to do when you see SNOW AGAIN! Ugh, I think we will be in the clear after this weekend, but what a crazy May. We’ve been hot and we’ve been cold. We’ve seen some awesome sunshine but also had lots of rain and slushy snow – just your typical Cleveland weather!

Anyway, my plan is to share some monthly updates that give more detail on what is happening in the garden. So here’s what we got for the month of May! Spoiler: A LOT of prep work!

Motherhood Monday: Momma Guilt

Back dating this post because hey, I didn’t get this done when I wanted, but who said I can’t post it now! No sense in sweating the small stuff. And this feeling is so fitting for this Motherhood Monday post. It is no coincidence that Mother’s Day is this weekend and it’s also Maternal Mental Health Awareness week, so what a perfect time to share some thoughts that have been on my mind that I’m sure we all suffer from!

We are busy, we want to do it all, we want a clean/perfect house, we want our kids to be learning at home. Let me preface by saying, I do suffer from OCD tendencies (my house is far from what you would expect a person with OCD house would look like). My OCD is one that builds up and erupts when things around me appear to look or feel like rock bottom in my own head – can anyone else relate?!

After chatting with my Mom and Mother in Law it occurred to me. Why do we (particularly myself) put so much unnecessary stress in our life?! Accepting the fact that you will fall short in some areas so many times in our lives (particularly during these toddler years) is something I need to understand as completely NORMAL.

What I “Do” Wednesday: Daily Vitamins & Morning “Health” Routine

For this month’s “What I Do” Wednesday series (it’s been awhile since I’ve done one), I’m sharing the vitamins I take and something my husband and I have been trying to do every morning. Please note: I am not a doctor and have done my own research as well as made my primary care doc aware of the vitamins I am taking and you should always consult with your doc when starting vitamins and supplements.

Prime Time – Recent Amazon Purchases – April ’21

Happy Tuesday! I meant to be with you here yesterday, but some unexpected issues popped up and I couldn’t get to it! I will share my garden plans (what I wanted to post about yesterday) with you tomorrow. But today is Prime Time Tuesday and I’m sharing some of our recent Amazon orders!

So much randomness in these orders! Many of the items were for Andrew and one thing my Mom ordered is an absolute must for a beach vacation for traveling via airplane.

Friday Favorites – 04.09.21

I missed you all last week! Unfortunately, I was the final person to fall to the stomach flu and did not leave the couch ALL DAY. Thankful we are back to feeling great especially during one of the best weeks! Our weather has been a taste of summer and all I know is I’m going to be bummed to head back into 50-60 degree temps.

April Coffee Stand Decor

There is something about swapping out the decorations on my coffee stand every month! It is fun to switch it up – and I find so much joy in enjoying what each month has to offer! As I’ve mentioned MANY times before, I have a bin that has accumulated all my coffee stand decor and most of the items have come from the Dollar Tree, Bullseye’s Playground or Walmart. Sharing my bright and colorful April coffee stand with you on this beautiful Tuesday morning!
