Let’s Look: The Inside of Your Purse

Today, I’m linking up with some of my favorite blogs to take a look at the inside of my purse. At first, I wasn’t really planning to join this link up because 1. It’s a mess. 2. It’s nothing to write home about, but when I thought about it, I felt like there were some completely random/useful things I could share.

Backpack Purse

I am so happy I switched to this style purse. I used to struggle having my purse fall off my shoulder and it just didn’t work for me juggling the kiddos. Another thing, going grocery shopping was always a pain – too many times would I go snag something leaving my cart and my purse with it…this way I don’t have to worry it’s always on my back.

Some backpack purses linked below:

I also was inspired to go this route because of how much easier backpack diaper bags are as well. Again, one shoulder straps just kill me when you are trying juggling kids, put them in and out of the car…a mess. Always, falling off my arm or even worse, falling down my arm to nearly knock out my kid when trying to hold their hand.

Diaper bag backpack

Another thing I am obsessed with that technically is in my purse at times…

Wristlet Key Chain

I CANNOT stress enough how amazing this is! If you have kids or are constantly losing your keys, this is for you!

Too many times would I be in a parking lot (especially in the winter) searching for my keys that sank to the bottom of my purse and then would have to throw them back in so I could put my kids in their car seats. Summer, even worse, I am rarely wearing clothes that have pockets and dealing with taking strollers in and out of the car can be annoying too, requiring you to set your keys down.

This keychain is a lifesaver because we all know you need ALL hands on deck when it comes to having toddlers and running errands. You simply get out of the car, slide the wristlet on your wrist of arm and VOILA, hands free to take kids in and out of their seats.

It comes in so many different colors I also have this marble one.

Cash Envelope and Grocery Notebook

Another thing I wanted to share, my cash envelope and grocery shopping technique!

This has been an amazing budgeting trick. I shared a lot more details in this post from last summer, but basically, we have saved hundreds of dollars on groceries every month since going this route.

I used to be the person who would have my grocery list, but wouldn’t stick to it. I found myself throwing a lot of extras in my cart and it was pretty wasteful might I add! This method has allowed me to be more conscious of what I am buying, how much I should be spending at each store and actually makes shopping a lot quicker.

Obviously, things have changed over the past month where we haven’t used this budgeting technique, but if you are looking to cut your monthly food expense, I’m telling you this works.

Basically, the thought behind this, we calculated a reasonable amount we should be spending on groceries every month. Every first of the month, I pull out the cash, put it in my envelope and when it is gone – IT’S GONE! Great challenge for us personally and we’ve saved SO much in the process!

Diapers and Wipes

I always am carrying a spare diaper and some wipes for the kids’ hands and faces these days…

Lip Gloss

The final things I always have in my bag are my favorite lip glosses and mascara.

I don’t wear a ton of makeup, so this is the extent of that – pretty boring and simple, but I do love these shades – they are my very favorite!

I have a reddish tint to my facial complexion, so I always opt for nude/light colors so it doesn’t pull out the red. Baby lips has been a favorite of mine.

And that’s a look inside my purse! Nothing riveting, but felt I should share some of the things that have been super helpful for me!
