June 2022 Garden Tour

Good morning and happy Monday! I hope your weekend was beautiful and relaxing! Today I’m finally sharing a garden tour to show you what’s been happening around here! I’m excited to see how this growing season differs from the last!

Last month we finally got these beds installed. I waited to make the investment on lumber after sales from last season – raised beds have always been the goal! Here’s what we did last year, and it was a complete disaster!

I still need to add soil amendments to the beds, but for the most part everything is in and running!

Here’s a look at how it’s going!

I direct seeded a sunflower patch – those are coming along so nicely! After this first harvest, I will replant another batch!

Snapdragon seedlings are in and doing their thing!

Added three more beds to the side here and – cleared and weeded them!

Dahlias are in here!

Moved my gladiolus into crates this year to save space. You can see the staggered planting that I did to make sure I have weeks of harvest!

I got to planting my containers/pots! I LOVE doing these big herb pots on my deck! I plant basil, thyme, oregano, parsley, cilantro, mint, dill and chives!

Transplanted this hibiscus into this pot! I love it on the pool deck!

Put this pot together – I love the combo – verbena, lantana and sweet potato vine – soon it will be so big and cascading all over the place!

I love the red flowers against the pool, sky and trees! It just pops!

We’ve been working through mulching the property! It is starting to look so good!

My goal of this perennial bed – to fill out and become a low maintenance spot and to have continuous blooming all seasons (sans winter – just some evergreen!)!

Blooming right now -not a ton!

Salvia, foxglove, snaps are close, mint, baby’s breath and cress!
