Cedar Point Recap

Good morning and happy Tuesday! We just got back from a quick overnight trip to Cedar Point and I honestly could not be more excited to share this with you!

Per usual, we had a blast! We are fortunate to only live an hour and some change from the park, so doing an overnight trip works for us! If we miss some things, we can always go back! Sharing the details about our trip and some tips and tricks on how to make it a little better experience for you!

We left the house Sunday around 1 pm and got to the hotel a little after 2.

When staying at the hotel, you get parking included – you will follow a different road to the hotel – it’s so neat to pass by all the rides on the way!

Hotel Breakers is beautiful! It has a full-service Starbucks, Poolside Grille food, a beach bar and bar inside, TGI Fridays, TOMO Hibachi Grill, Perkins and Dominos on site.

It was pretty packed at check in – took me about 20 minutes to get checked in – our room wasn’t available (check-in is technically at 4pm), BUT you can check in as early as 8 am the day of arrival in order to receive your park passes and wristbands/ hotel keys for the day! IF, you are a season pass holder (which we are, more on that below) AND you purchased tickets through the hotel, you are allowed early access into the park. The park opens at 10 am to the general public, so it is a great way to ride some of the bigger/popular coasters! Not all coasters are up and running at this time, but a good majority are! Camp Snoopy does not open until 10 am, so we mostly get to the park early for my husband to go on a bunch of rides!

If you plan to stay a couple days at the hotel, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing the Gold Pass season pass. It pays for itself in two visits and also includes Cedar Point shores Waterpark as well! You receive discounts on hotel rooms, some food (even right off the park site on the way to the freeway) and it puts less pressure on feeling the need to stay in the park the entire day to get your money’s worth.

We left all our stuff in the car and walked right over to the park entrance, which is super close by! Love this convenience when staying at Hotel Breakers.

Since we got to the park at 2 pm, we headed straight to Camp Snoopy to rides some rides!

Our double stroller was our saving grace – we were able to fit all three kiddos – load them up and walk through the park easily! The configuration allows one person to sit up from, a person to sit/kneel on the bench seat and we were able to have a kiddo stand on the back! Cannot recommend this stroller enough!

Then, it was time to eat something – we ended up purchasing the All-Day dining plan for $32 (it would have made sense to purchase this on a day where we got there earlier BUT it did pay for itself. We were allowed a meal every 90 minutes. We ended up purchasing two plans and split the meals we got. It is for select locations so you have to pay attention to that. We also got the souvenir cup for $18. Drinks are $5 at the park, so this cup allowed you to fill your cup every 15 minutes at any refuel and refresh station all day! Every time you visit the park after the purchase, bring it back to reactivate it for $5 – this will cover all day drinks. This was CLUTCH to have as it was pretty warm and it’s important to keep the kiddos hydrated!

Okay, back to what we did in the park. We mostly stayed near Camp Snoopy – we didn’t get to the other side of the park that had more kiddie rides and that was okay.

We received a text from the front desk saying our room was ready. They give you keys when you check in, then activate them when available. We walked back to the hotel and went straight to our room to unpack and get in our swim suits!

We do the standard room, but I like to do the lake view option! I would like to try the walk out rooms where you can access the pool from your room, but with the kiddos so young, I prefer to feel safe and “enclosed”

The Hotel has three pool areas – 2 adult pools with hot tubs and the kiddie pool area that is located between the adult pools. You can walk the beach boardwalk, grab some adult beverages, listen to live music, head to the beach or pool area. It truly feels like you are in Florida!

We sat poolside and watched the kids have a great time!

After swimming in the pool – it was over to the beach to hang!

We finished up in the hot tub – the headed back to our room to get ready for bed! We ordered pizza to the room and it was curtains for all of us!

The next morning – I was up and atom to this beautiful sunrise!

I wanted to go for a walk on the boardwalk, but I ended up hanging out on the patio reading a little.

The kiddos were up and watching cartoons around 7:15, so we decided to head down for breakfast at Perkins. Our goal was to get to the park for early entry so Andrew could ride some rides!

Breakfast done – then over to the park. First, I snapped this picture from our porch!

You can see how close the hotel is to the park entrance.

Our stroller configuration again!

Straight to Millennium Force – his favorite ride!

He got on within 10 minutes – then it was off to do some more rides!

We all went on the Ferris Wheel – Mom doesn’t love heights!

But the view was stunning!

Back down on the ground and time to hit up some other rides!

It was time to checkout of our room, so we headed back – loaded up our car and changed into our suits to walk over to the water park, which is directly next door to the hotel!

Again, the Gold pass gives you free admission to the waterpark as well!

We splashed around for a bit – the weather was good but not super hot – which I feel like is required at waterparks, but you do get used to the water temp. We are so spoiled we keep our own pool at 86-88 degrees all summer long…. so this shocks us ha!

Audrey and Andrew went on the big water slide tube! Audrey is a daredevil!

We also enjoyed the wave pool – that was a blast!

Again, lots of drinks and food options – we only touched half the park, but wanted to get back home to doggie so we ended the day with snow cones! The kiddos were so tired!

We grabbed DQ chill and grill chicken tenders to eat in the car before they fell asleep for an hour car ride! I HAVE to share this cup/snack bowl with you! I actually bought them for our pool at home, but it was thee perfect thing for the car ride. Put their water and kids meal in one spot!

Okay, my husband and I were laughing – these things are huge, but they are perfect!

Back home by 4:30 and there you have it – our 24 hour trip to Cedar Point! It was a BLAST! Heading back a couple more times throughout the season, but cannot recommend the Hotel Breakers enough!
