World Sight Day 2020: Hope In Sight

Each year, World Sight Day is recognized on the second Thursday of October and the purpose is to raise awareness about blindness, vision impairments and a reminder of the importance of eye exams and screenings.

Today, I see it necessary to spread this awareness and encourage you to take eye health very seriously – in particular being that advocate for our children. This is something they need us for! As a parent, it is our obligation to make sure we are aware of the vision developmental milestones and are actively listening and advocating for our kids.

If you’ve been following along, our daughter was diagnosed with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia – along with esotropia, hyperopia (farsightedness) and strabismus – at the age of 5 months. She is now 5 years old and has had 2 eye alignment surgeries. I shared our diagnosis story last year and since publishing, have heard from many people sharing similar stories.

Six Years of Wedded Bliss!

Today, I figured I would share 6 things we’ve learned these past 6 years of marriage! While we’ve known each other since grade school, there are still new things you discover as a couple and a parent.

A Day in the Life – September

Today I’m sharing a day in the life post and this could not be a more random Wednesday to write about! Sharing what goes on around here in a given day for the most part – we are preparing for a garage sale this weekend, so I spent a decent amount of time getting some things done for that and also I cleaned our pool for nearly two hours, so that chewed up most of my day! Hope you enjoy reading along!

Happy Friday! We all survived the first week back at school! Our routine has been working out great, and honestly should have been something we were doing ALL. SUMMER. LONG! Who am I kidding, we loved the late nights and sleeping in, but having this structure has been really good for all of us!

As always, sharing my favorites from this week! We have Audrey and baby T’s birthday party this weekend and of course, I am not ready whatsoever, but it is going to be a small get together, so it won’t be anything too over the top anyway!

September Reset: Routines and Budgeting

Good morning everyone – and happy September! I do LOVE September and fall vibes so much, but I am so so sad to see summer come to a close! I will start pulling out the fall decor after Labor Day – which will work perfect because if I’m honest, we are still unpacking from vacation!!!

Speaking of vacation – Audrey has been on one basically since March (well we all have, but she had school to report to) so picking back up on a routine will be huge and also our budgeting goals had gone on vacation too. COVID really threw a wrench in things and I’m ready to get back to normalcy!

Today, I thought I would share some ways on how I plan on getting back into a routine and a little budgeting challenge I plan to follow all month.
