What’s Up Wednesday [09.29.21]

It’s the last Wednesday of the month, and that means I’m linking up with some of my favorite bloggers Mix & Match Mama and Sheaffer Told Me To to share what has been happening around here! These are my favorite posts – I LOVE seeing what others have going on and love that I can look back at these someday!

What We’re Eating This Week…

Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs – a staple in this house!

Spinach Kale Chicken Burgers – these were from Costco and SO good! Topped it with some provolone cheese and onions!

It’s soup season!! Chicken tortilla soup for the win!

My favorite smoothie…sharing the recipe soon!

Same with at home cold foam iced coffees!

Tasty after school snacks!

What I’m Reminiscing About

Childhood

I used to journal from 3rd grade until 6th grade. I wrote down what I did EVERY SINGLE DAY! I spent a lot of time flipping through the notebooks reliving my youth. It was really cool to read!

What I’m Loving…

Fresh air of the season

I LOVE having the windows and doors open this time of the year. The air is so fresh and the temperatures are perfect!

Fall Nail Colors

Obsessed with these nail colors!

Sally Hansen – Midnight Mod

Leaf me Be – this shade is perfection!

What We’ve Been Up To…

Deep Cleaning

I deep cleaned our carpets a couple weeks ago – I cannot wait to share some before and after pics! I’m obsessed with this vacuum and pleased with the purchase!

This time of year I get into deep clean mode before we go into hibernation.

Pillows, blankets and comforters clean and line drying – check!

Toys purged and reorganized – check!

What I’m Dreading…

Daylight savings.

Ugh, the early sunsets and dark mornings definitely put a damper on my mood. This sunrise was gorgeous the other morning! Going to miss all that sunshine!

Putting the garden to bed

You can check out my garden tour post – I am going to miss all these flowers so much!

Closing the pool…ugh

It’s hard to believe we spent ALL DAY in the pool a couple weeks ago to now preparing for closing!

What I’m Working On…

Fall planting and post season garden prep

I am preparing an area to plant some spring bulbs. I can’t believe we are approaching the end of the growing season. So many things learned – I’m already ready for next season!

What I’m Excited About…

Decorating for Fall!

I’m excited to pull out all my fall decorations and get my house into fall mode! Here’s a sneak peak of our outside decor!

Fall Bucket List

Working through our fall bucket list!

We can already cross one thing off our list!

What I’m Watching/Reading…

Finished the Guest List – finally! I really enjoyed that book as it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Starting Shari Lapena’s book, another thriller what else is new!

What I’m Listening To

Nothing at the moment!

What I’m Wearing…

ALL things TRANSITIONAL. My day begins with pants, tank and a cardigan or jean jacket. By the end of the day, I’m left with pants and a tank/tee because of the heat! I do love the clothing this time of the year. I can’t wait to share some fall/winter favorites on the blog in the next couple weeks. Be sure to come check that out!

Shoes // Jacket (is old – linking something similar) // Striped long sleeve

Shoes // Yoga Pants

Cardigan // tank // shoes

Flannel // T-shirt dress // shoes

What I’m Doing This Weekend…

I’m so bummed – we were supposed to be leaving for a family wedding in Idaho tomorrow, but we had to cancel. We rented a cabin for a group of my family to stay and the kiddos were even going to join us. So upset this isn’t happening but understand keeping people healthy!

Audrey has a game to cheer during, a birthday party to attend and then rest and relaxation when we can.

Andrew and I might go out to dinner for our anniversary or do something next weekend. Looking forward to a date night!

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…

Visit with family

We are so excited to go see my brother and sister in law and their family! We haven’t seen them in a while and the kids will get a kick out of seeing their cousins!

Halloween

Halloween is such a fun time with the kiddos. I’m looking forward to attending several trick or trick events such as the Halloween carnival at their school!

Foliage Change

Trees changing color and losing their leaves – such a bittersweet time and also truly beautiful!

What Else is New??

Not too much! Getting into a really good routine right now. Also blessed and thankful for our family’s health and and the many beautiful things we are surrounded by! Hope you have a great day!

I love your fall bucket list! I’m looking forward to crossing things off my own. As much as I love this time of year, I also don’t love how early it gets dark.

I feel the same way about daylight savings time! We were supposed to be going away for the weekend this weekend too and ended up canceling our trip as well. It was such a bummer! Sorry you had to cancel your trip.

  3. Natasha says:

I’m sorry you couldn’t go to the wedding. That’s so disappointing 🙁 And I too am not looking forward to Daylight Savings Time at all. Ugh.
