Thursday Thoughts: Time Marches On

Today is Audrey’s last day in the preschool program at our school. It’s been 3 years, and while I know she has matured and is ready for Kinder, I can’t believe how quickly time flies. I will say, I am so happy we decided to red-shirt this year and was blessed to have a preschool program that was so flexible, accommodating and prepared her for the next step!

Just your daily reminder, time stops for no one. Babies grow up so quickly. The saying the days are long, but the years are short couldn’t be more true. I am happy I had this past year home with Audrey. I was able to create more memories two days out of the week and know I’m going to miss doing random activities on a weekday with her included. That time we all spent together I will cherish. The freedom to schedule whatever we wanted and have no set plans will be missed, but thank goodness for summer to ease us into our next phase of life!

Yesterday when I picked Audrey up from school, she gave me a sad look and I asked her what was wrong. She said she was going to miss her teachers and didn’t want to do school full-time. Ugh, melts my heart I don’t want her to go either, but she is ready! I am so happy we eased into school this year because once school starts, I feel like the years start FLYING! Our “slowed” down lifestyle was totally worth it but now I know it’s time for her to learn, grow and make new friends!

Here’s to enjoying the limited time we have with our kiddos. For stay at home Moms, overwhelmed and stretched thin at times, but so amazing what we are able to experience. Cherish it, remind yourselves on the rough days, these moments are fleeting.

You can find me feeling all the emotions today – but ultimately thankful to God for all His many blessings!
