Thrifty Thursday – Recent Garage Sale Flip – Silhouette Art

Good morning and happy Thursday! It’s Thrifty Thursday, and today I am sharing a little DIY project with a garage sale frame I found a month ago!

I picked up this picture frame for $2 at a garage sale – pretty sure it was brand new, and what I loved about it was that it was a neat size, there were three frames (obviously one spot for each kiddo) and it was in black and white – matching the color scheme of our living room!

I know I wanted to do the kid’s silhouettes because I think that artwork is so unique and an awesome addition to a black and white scheme room!

First, I took a side profile picture of the kiddos – the best way to do this is in front of a bare wall so it is easy for your design software to auto select the pixels making up their profile!

I used Photoshop – and I have a really old version of it on my computer, but it got the job done!

Next I printed the proper size – this frame held 3.5″ x 5″ sized pictures – so I measured then cut the pictures! I actually just used regular computer paper because I liked the matte look!

Now time to arrange in my $2 frame!

Ordered by age

Taped a couple corners down – then reassembled the frame and

VOILA!

How cute and easy is that!

These canvas prints were already here and this frame fit PERFECTLY in between! I will probably end up adding some plain/textured decor to this arrangement to “complete” it, but in the meantime, I am absolutely LOVING how this came out!
