March 2025 Garden Update

Good morning and happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! We’ve been playing catch up as we were out of town this past weekend. The kids played hooky from school today, so we enjoyed a nice day together as we were apart! Today, I’m sharing a garden update – things are starting to pick up which is so hard to believe! Before you know it, it will be tulip time!!

Here’s what is happening on the flower farm!

Seed starting and keeping seed babies alive

This is a crucial time in the flower farming world. I need to stay on task succession planting and keeping all the tiny seedlings alive because most were started back in January!

I’ve transplanted ranunculus out into the beds and will start moving others from tray to garden bed soon, so it will be extra hard to keep things alive even more! Spring transplants do require a bit of work as the temps are still not consistent.

Bed preps

We had a leftover pool tarp that my Dad cut up for me to use as a weed killer on some of my beds. I plan to lay them out and rotate to keep weeds from spreading and blowing onto my beds this spring.

Mini Greenhouses

If you’ve followed along, I have mini greenhouses that I’ve made using PVC piping and greenhouse plastic. These go in the ground at the end of winter/early spring. I spend a lot of my time opening and closing these greenhouses in order to keep the perfect living situation for any plants I currently have in the ground!

Continued Marketing

I am trying my best to keep up with marketing my services – I really stink when it comes to social media!

I did help with some fun flower related things for a couple showers recently! Here is a look at the flower bar!

What’s crazy to me is that the next update will have TULLLIPPPSSS and other flowers starting to bloom!
