These flatbreads.
I cannot express how amazing these turned out, you need to try them for yourself! My husband can vouch too – he is a total pizza connoisseur and thought these tasted delicious!
This was another super easy recipe that was put together in 15 minutes. Serve with a salad – voila, dinner is served!
A Tale of Two Flatbreads
Obviously titled this way because we made one for us (ADULT) and one for the kids. I don’t know about you, but our kids like plain, simple and bland and do not go outside the box much. The two crusts gave us the perfect opportunity for my husband and I to make something we were in the mood for and also make something we KNEW the kiddos would eat and love!
I ended up buying the artichokes, spinach, marinara and pepperoni after I saw this flatbread crust, so I had everything I needed on hand for dinner, but you certainly could create whatever kind of flatbread you want based on what you have in your pantry/fridge. Don’t be afraid to get creative!
I wanted to share these with you because I feel they could serve as the perfect appetizer for any holiday party or gathering you are hosting!
If I were hosting a holiday party I would probably do the roasted spinach and artichoke pizza (pictured above) and a margarita flatbread as well. The traditional red sauce pepperoni pizza was dinner for the kids that night – also super good, but not as fancy!
First off, this flatbread crust is from Aldi – $2.99 for two crusts. It was VERY tasty!
Assembly Time
KIDS: Red sauce – I used Aldi brand Marinara sauce and spread that over the flatbread
ADULT: Olive oil and a nice coating of Lawry’s garlic salt seasoning (our favorite/most versatile/most used seasoning in the house!)
Next up
ADULT: I chopped up some cherry tomatoes and a white onion. I was so close to caramelizing the onions, but I opted not to for time sake. It was still very good, but if I were having guests, I would most likely take the time and do that!
KIDS: Pepperoni (the kids placed these, not the most photogenic!)
ADULT: Spinach for our flatbread…
ADULT: Then I added the marinated artichoke hearts (from Aldi )
KIDS: Cheese to top off their pizza
ADULT: Added a tiny bit of cheese to ours as well…
Cooked per the instructions on the flatbread package, which I believe was 400 degrees for 6-7 minutes. We did end up keeping it in for a couple more minutes (watching carefully!)
Voila! dinner is served!
