Holiday Weekend Rewind – 09.06.22

Hi friends! After a CARAZY end of August —and I mean absolutely CRAZY – I was so thankful to actually get back on track in the life dept. and enjoy the long weekend. Audrey had off of school Friday due to the 200th county fair! They get an extra long weekend every year and it honestly is the best!

Andrew took a half day so it was off to the fair we went!

I submitted two floral arrangements into the flower show and got third place in both! We were pretty pumped to find those ribbons on my arrangements!

Overall, our flower club did amazing, including taking first in the specimans display!

We had lunch and enjoyed some fair rides!

After enjoying the fair, it was straight home to prepare for Audrey’s first soccer game. We honestly did not know what to expect and were completely blown away by Audrey’s talent! She scored a bunch of goals and was so pumped after each one! Of course I didn’t get any pictures!

The weather outlook for the weekend changed drastically so we had to rearrange some plans. We planned to go to the Air Show Monday, but due to weather and a change of plans we switched to Saturday the best weather day.

I’m so happy my brother and his family could! My brother works right at the airport where they do the show and the views/location never disappoint!

This year was the Blue Angels show – one of my favorites!

Future pilots these kids!

After the show we were sweating our heads off – so back home to the pool it was!

Sunday was church and catch up day! I was able to get so much laundry done and tidy the house a bit! I obviously tinkered around in the garden a bit too!

On Labor Day, a good family friend had us all over to bring back the annual labor day picnic. When we were younger, my parents used to host an annual labor day breakfast at a local park. My Dad would cook the entire breakfast over open flame grills.

I do have fond memories of these breakfasts. It was awesome – everyone – friends and family would stop down, catch up, enjoy breakfast and relax.

Our family friends decided to bring it back and had us over! It was so much fun!

Their property was incredible!

A cake was made to celebrate my Mom who retired last week! What a way to celebrate Labor Day!

We wrapped up the rainy weekend by tidying the house and naps! My homemade chicken noodle soup was in the menu and honestly, it was the perfect cozy way to end the holiday weekend!

What a fun weekend! My middle son was the only one who went to the fair this weekend. The rest of us hung around the house. Monday we had lots and lots of rain so we all snuggled in at home watching TV for the day.
