Today, I’m doing another fun link up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer Told Me To where we recap the month with a little this and that! I love these kind of posts – they also make me happy because someday, I can look back at these little “journal” excerpts showing a glimpse of our lives lately!
What We’re Eating This Week…
My husband and I have been under the weather the past couple days – so absolutely nothing has sounded good and I’ve had ZERO interest in cooking! SOUPS ON REPEAT last week though!!
Italian Wedding Soup
I made a big ole’ batch of my Italian wedding meatballs to freeze and have ready to go!
Pasta Fagoli Soup
Gluten Free Cheddar Biscuits
These biscuits are SO good! They are at Aldi in their gluten free section – an absolute must buy, particularly if you are gluten free.
What I’m Reminiscing About
Past Halloweens
What I’m Loving…
All the…Fall things
Pumpkin Rolls
These Aldi Pumpkin Rolls are SO GOOD and the price is even better! For $3.99 you cannot beat these!
Fall Foliage
Some views from around the yard! I love all the colors right now!
What We’ve Been Up To…
Overwintering the House
I shared our over winterizing the home checklist yesterday and I’m curious, are there things you do to make sure your house is buttoned up before the cold comes?
This is one of the things I ALWAYS do!
Flagging Dahlias
We’ve only seen one frost so my Dahlias are still green and alive, but the flowers are drooping right now so I have to cut and toss. I decided to go flag my dahlias while I know the exact varieties by tying labeled flagging tape to the base of the plant.
I’m really going to miss these beauties!
What I’m Dreading…
Daylight Savings Time…
Maybe we can turn this into a positive and start lying about bedtime? JK, but seriously it’s crazy how dark it will be so early EVERY DAY!
Limited Activity
Winter plus COVID = brutal! We really need to find ways to keep ourselves and the kiddos active this winter. Normally we would sign the kids up for swim class, nature classes or just take them to run around our local Farmpark, but so many of those things are closed/have limited hours.
What I’m Working On…
Wedding Invitations
Wedding invite biz has picked up a little bit, which makes me really happy!
What I’m Excited About…
Inquiry for potential business plan
My proposal went over well with the city which I submitted. They were kind enough to give me a suggestion, so I’m working on that inquiry right now!
What I’m Watching/Reading…
The Dilemma – B.A. Paris
I’m almost finished with this book. I’m not sure what to think of it just yet – it keeps getting more and more compelling, but I loved B.A. Paris’ other books and think I was expecting to be just as spooked!
What I’m Listening To
The kiddos! They are so so chatty! Motherhood has felt hard around here recently and when I feel stressed about it, I try to remind myself they are not little for long and a messy house/massive to do list can wait. Honestly, what it the rush – why do I add unnecessary stresses to our lives…I’m starting to listen to myself and in order to do that I need to prioritize my task lists and quiet time.
What I’m Wearing…
I’ve been keeping it casual!
This Walmart Sweater is SUPER soft and for $12, CAN’T BEAT IT! I was obsessed with the colors!
These Target platform booties (pictured above) are SO CUTE! I had a pair of tan “leather” booties that I retired because they were falling apart. The sale was BOGO 50% so I also invested in a cute little pointed bootie below…
Old Navy has been my jam recently they just had a pretty good sale and some of the goodies I ordered are set to arrive today and tomorrow. Here’s what I snagged from the sale – I will share pictures of them soon!
I ordered this Amber color below and also a Carbon Grey which was sold out
I have this top in grey and LOVE it!
What I’m Doing This Weekend…
Carving pumpkins on Friday and depending on weather and how everyone is feeling – Trick or Treating! If people are staying in, we’ll make some mummy hot dogs and just make it a super fun night for the kiddos!
What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month…
Holiday Season
I’m getting excited to start thinking about the Christmas season, holiday shopping for family members, decorating the house – it’s always just so cozy and fun! Honestly, that is what gets me through the winter months!
Election Season being OVER!
Please. END. NOW! Since when did things get so HOSTILE?! Probably when journalists and the media felt it was their civic obligation to make up news and spread lies DAILY! Scary times we live in honestly.
What Else is New??
My husband and I planned a quick little getaway in the next couple months using some airline credits we had! Feeling super excited about doing that – it will be a much needed break away from the kids (even though we’re already feeling regretful about leaving them behind…)

I love your dahlias. I hope you’re all feeling better soon — being sick is no fun 🙁 And the fall foliage has been just incredible this year.
