Weekend Rewind: 05/18/20

Happy Monday everyone! This weekend came and went TOO QUICKLY! The weather was incredible – to be able to be outside with no coats, AMAZING! Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite things from this weekend! Hope you had a great weekend!

Friday was rainy…

But it was kind of nice to relax and keep it pretty low key! My husband and I finished watching Avengers: Infinity War (yes, we had to break it up into two nights because we couldn’t stay awake for a three hour movie in one sitting) and really liked it. I am excited to see how it ends – Avengers: End Game.

Saturday morning coffee run

T and I were up pretty early, so I decided to take him for a car ride for coffee before everyone woke up at home.

The foggy morning made for some pretty scenes on our quiet drive – there were hardly any cars on the road!

Planting

I was able to get most of my planting done – dahlia tubers, gladiolus bulbs, zinnia seeds, celosia and cosmos – in the ground – ALLELUIA! We are finally in the clear weather wise!

Splash time

Welp, the kids had some good times in the sprinkler…aka my form of a rinse off after getting all messy from helping with the garden bed

More water fun was had walking through the huge “lake” that forms in our yard after a big rain. This picture makes me chuckle, boys will be boys…

4 little people v. 2 adults

Four kids v. my husband and I – we babysat my nephew this weekend . It was really nice to have some quality time with him – the kiddos enjoyed having him around too, especially T!

Just watching the world go by…

Sounds of Summer Nights

I love the sounds of the frogs, bugs, all of it! I really enjoy ending the day sitting out and listening to it all!

Final Garden Bed Assembled

We assembled and filled a new garden bed. We’ve had the pieces for this one since fall of last year, so the “final” layout is complete. We have sooo many fun plans for this area, but its a gradual process!

We had the best little helpers!

And the cutest little observer!

Early to bed

I’m not going to lie, this weekend was exhausting in the parenting department. The kiddos were not listening well and just complaining a lot. We had the last straw after an incident (thank goodness after bath time) and decided it was best if the kids went to sleep early. One feel asleep IMMEDIATELY- the other fought it, but ultimately it was the right call.

My husband and I did Sunday mass in peace and got some things done ourselves. I think (and hope) it was a good refresher for everyone and they will wake up in better shape today!

Happy Monday and have an amazing week!
